@EmDempsey88 @Formula2 I have no ill will towards him, but race bans have been handed out for lesser incidents precisely because the type of driving he displayed cannot be allowed in a series with such high stakes for competitors. At the very least, a grid penalty in a Sprint is far too little.

@Wildcat1204 @Formula2 Risky move? Absolutely. But let’s not pretend aggressive overtakes haven’t shaped racing history. Monaco punishes hard, and yes, this one didn’t come off — but the pile-on from the sidelines is louder than the incident itself. Racing drivers learn. Online experts just complain.

@EmDempsey88 @Formula2 Racing incident means mutual fault, this was all on Dunne. Trying to force the inside as he did was stupid, and into Sainte Devote will only ever end one way. Saying he’s responsible for much of the field’s DNFs is not an exaggeration, it’s a fact. Those behind had no chance.

It's a racing mistake, not a war crime. Rookie error? Sure. Deserves coaching and reflection, not a Twitter witch-hunt.

@EmDempsey88 @FishChips1 @Formula2 Martins was ahead long way before the corner. It was done deal. Just bc Dunne was salty that he lost and poked front wing inside does not mean that he was entitled for racing room. He lost, he crashed, he is fully to blame under current racing rules.

@vojtechnes @FishChips1 @Formula2 It was a racing incident involving two cars, not a solo divebomb or a torpedo move. Both drivers were committed, both were entitled to race. You can argue ideal outcomes all day, but in the heat of it, split-second decisions happen. It’s racing, not chess.

@FishChips1 @EmDempsey88 @Formula2 Martins was almost full car ahead, in no universe diving inside like Dunne did will result in clean pass. Martins was 100% in control of the corner and Dunne was supposed to tuck behind, or took avoiding action by cutting the corner to avoid crash. He chose to become torpedo.

@EmDempsey88 @Formula2 Mistakes happen but this is a joke of a penalty. It costs millions for these guys to race in F2 and for a lot of them, that money won’t lead to anything. When someone wipes out a bunch of cars in a series like this they’re ruining people’s chances and it has to be actioned hard.
