A great week at #Microbio24 so far, excited to present the start of my PhD work on conservation and variation in E. coli core genes at poster B052

Bacteria are cool.

...some prophage encoded genes (not defences) under standard LB conditions, despite the prophage being cryptic and unable to propagate... kind of suggests some of their genes have been co-opted for host biology (who knows🤷‍♀️) - We detected ~2-3 mini proteins encoded within rRNA...
