A WDW Cast Member working for $19 an hour at Galaxy's Edge in Orlando who talks about the changes to the Anaheim version of the land is not a "source" of what Lucasfilm is doing with the Star Wars movies. To even consider putting such BS out there makes you a fucking dumbass.

Lifting the review embargo 3 days before release makes me think Disney/Lucasfilm has some confidence in this movie getting good reviews. It’s the same gap that Thunderbolts* and Predator: Badlands had.

@nick_field90 I don’t see the problem with lifting the review embargo 3 days before the official US release. If it was 2 or just 1, I would understand, but 3 days before is the same gap that Thunderbolts* had for example.

@DCUHawkman Even adjusted by inflation, The Force Awakens had bigger numbers than The Phantom Menace.

@EmbargoLiftsFor Merch Sales is the true measure of the success of a franchise like Star Wars. And it's simply a fact that the Lucas era made so much more money than the Disney era. @ClownfishTVcom has plenty coverage on this topic if you're interested in knowing wich era had more hype.

@RealCyberkitten And answering your 2nd paragraph, what tells more about the hype of a movie? A photo of someone holding action figures or actual box office numbers?

@EmbargoLiftsFor And you think that was Disney's doing? It was Episode VII. The Hype was carry over from the Lucas era. And you literally are comparing Merch to Box Office. The Picture shows a guy with Merch. Your respons is literaly a screenshot of the Box Office.

@RealCyberkitten There was hype carried over by the Lucas era, yes, not denying that, but it was far from just that. The Force Awakens had a gigantic marketing campaign that brought to theaters people who already knew Star Wars and people who didn’t.

@EmbargoLiftsFor You're comparing Box office number to merch sales. Toy companies refused to produce sequel toys cuz they didn't sell. Prequel & OT Toys are still hot stuff. 2015 tickets are also cost quite a bit more than 1977-2005 ticker. So Lucas Star Wars was objectivly more poular.

@EmbargoLiftsFor Tell me you know nothing about cultural impact without telling me you know nothing about cultural impact :D By your definition we wouldn't be talking about anything but the Avatar movies... buuut most people have already forgotten about them.

I really dislike the mindset that the MCU would be in an equally good (or better) position if they had simply recast Kang. Kang was a weak villain in a poorly received film that underperformed at the box office. Majors wasn’t the only issue, and a recast wouldn’t have fixed that. Marvel clearly realized they needed to change direction as audiences were moving on.

we told you to just recast kang
