@EmileBertin2 They do it in Britain too, unfortunately — we tend to copy all the worst aspects of your culture. The reason why I didn't know what it actually was until today was because I don't have any friends.

I just found out what the "talking stage" is. Apparently, having replaced "courting" with "dating," they've now brought back courting, but put it in front of dating. It must be easier to get initiated into a secret cult than it is to get married nowadays! Good grief!

We don’t care about purgatory enough. “I’m poor, I have no friends, I am depressed, I will never find love” I get it. I know it’s rough. But you would take this life a hundred times over if it meant avoiding even a day in purgatory. Take up the cross or get ready for worse.
