I can not sleep! Every time I close my eyes the tears come. I don’t know I’ll be able to utter the words “I’m sorry for your loss” to my friend of 20 yrs. her son Jeremy’s life was cut short Monday. Tomorrow is the funeral and I can not sleep. 1/T
Even in our differences, I feel that the Creator of us all, our Father in Heaven, would want us to support each other like the brothers and sisters that we are.
“In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, and comforting, and constant influence, of the Holy Ghost.”

The cleats are up for auction right now over at the NFL. Maybe you know a struggling teen who could use the reminder. Or maybe a special ed department who could put them up as an encouragement for their students. Or maybe you would love to display them in your home.
They speak about more than just struggling with a learning disability, the grass stains and wrinkled leather on these cleats represent the dreams and chances available to those who work to overcome whatever is holding them back.
These cleats represent some of the tools that helped Garett get to where he is today: never doubt, live empowered, and believe in the grace of God.

In April of 2017 he stood under the lights on the stage of the NFL draft and spoke to all those who have ever struggled with a learning disability. He told them to live their dreams. He spoke from experience.
Over the years he slowly learned to overcome those disabilities. He acquired tools. He also surrounded himself with a support group that would help him find successes where disappointment had always been.
I met Garett over a decade ago. He came to my house for homework help. And dinner. He was a kid who struggled with the law & was regularly suspended. The more time I spent with him, the more I realized much of his problems stemmed from the learning disabilities he struggled with.
Everything boils down to one plan, one word, one commitment, just to keep whispering this over & over again: Jesus. Time with Him, keeping company with Him, walking with Him, resting in Him, living in Him, growing in Him, changing in Him, becoming like Him.
I love and ever need a new beginning. Each year I spend hours of its last few days -Bible open, pen in hand & paper in front of me- reflecting, planning & goal setting with God. He alone knows the future but I can know He wants 2 things from me in it: faithfulness & fruitfulness.
