Rod Liddle and Will Self chatting on the radio. The very definition of confirmation bias from two insufferably pompous and pontificating arses.

@SceneinCinema He needs to realise looks change all the time and in Hollywood can keep him in roles for life. He reminds me of Sir John Hurt who had a long successful career

Barry Keoghan says hate about his looks made him “not want to go outside.” The actor, known for Saltburn and Dunkirk, revealed he faced “disgusting commentary” online, especially after his split from Sabrina Carpenter, which led him to delete ig. “There’s a lot of hate online… a lot of abuse of how I look,” he said. “It’s made me really go inside myself… not want to attend places, not want to go outside.” “It’s becoming a problem… because then you don’t even want to be on screen anymore.”

@jim8oy66 Let's hope you never have a 'mental episode' or anything beyond your control, during which you might feel frightened, suffering and helpless and that someone watching you decides you're a prick.

My neighbours boy is having another “mental episode”… it happens at least once a fortnight, an ambulance and 2 paramedics have been parked over my fucking drive for the last hour and 15 minutes 🤬.. I can imagine some poor old person laying in pain with a broken hip while this prick gets a “there there”.

@BBCNewsnight Oh God. So sad. I met Eddie once, I had to entertain him while his dad chatted to my boss. He talked about the football and the World Cup, and he was such a lovely, bright engaging boy. What honestly is worse than losing a child. Unbearable.

“I put him to bed with paracetamol and Nurofen and I went in in the morning and he was dead - it was that quick.” Author and poet Michael Rosen remembers the sudden death of his late son Eddie to Meningitis C in 1999. #Newsnight

@andycomfort Oh God, it's so good. I was bereft when I finished it all. Roger Allan is always superb and Sean Evans really shone in this role. I actually preferred it to Morse...

I’ve see them all before but I’m rewatching the first episode of Endeavour. What a stunning tv drama it is. The cast, the acting, the production, the writing, the locations and the music. It has it all. For me, the best of the Morse trilogy.

@ozsarsparella @ImWatson91 @thechosenberg I agree in principal. Just as with anything else, you should be able to be honest with someone you love, but I'd say pick your battles. If it is going to risk hurting their feelings and it's not that important, either shut up or be extremely tactful

@ImWatson91 @thechosenberg I dunno about this. I think my husband would get cringe from cutesy stuff and people are allowed to politely set boundaries. It always feels embarrassing when someone sets a boundary that makes you modify your behaviour, but ultimately it's growth IMO

@NimkoAli Surely, you've heard of the cases of women working in nurseries and abusing children? The vast majority of male nursery workers are decent human beings, but just like women, there will always be a rotten apple

Not that it matters much but the best thing Jessie Buckley has ever done - because the hardest - was as Princess Marie Bolkonsky in the last BBC version (altogether not that great except for her and Paul Dano) of War and Peace - the part is almost impossible to play and she was. so convincing and moving

@LissaKEvans @ToriatheistTori God this is so boring. I was a little girl who hated all girly things. Mostly because my mother liked making me smocked dresses (I now realise they were lovely) and I had little control over how I was dressed. Not once did I not want to be a girl. I was, I am. The end.

That's stupid. I was 4 when I knew. When I started pestering for things like pretty dresses and hair ribbons. Guess what it takes for a kid to transition prior to puberty? New clothes and haircut. They get to explore their identity with no medical intervention. Full stop.
Sarah Phillimore@SVPhillimore

@Nasalstrip240 @ToriatheistTori So you would agree that no child under 16 should medically transition? Whats your lower age limit?

@GabriellaW63735 100 per cent. Some bright colours and scalloped edges, might not be to everyone's taste, but good God in this day and age, it's depressing to take her down, particularly when women do it. What she wears has zero to do with her competence and worth as an MP.

Serious question, do people actually exist who genuinely enjoy staying home all day, completely alone, without seeing anyone?

@NimkoAli I agree with Rupert - and I’m a woman. It’s a serious place and yes Nimco addressing serious global issues so don’t turn up looking like you’re auditioning for the Teletubbies. It’s got nothing to do whether she’s a woman; a man would be criticised even more I suspect
