A coffee shop in Galway will be opening their doors for a period on Christmas day.
Mocha Beans in Claregalway will open for a few hours from 1pm to 3pm for any one who may be alone or homeless during the festive period.
‘If you are cold at home, or if you are homeless, we’ll also be supplying free hot water bottles, blankets, anything that we can do to help.’
Trevor added that items available would be extended past 3pm, and a box with blankets etc would be left outside for anyone who may want to remain anonymous.
‘That’ll also be extended for our coffee shops in Ballina, Pearse Street and Foxford Road,’

Proud to share that NAS has once again achieved IAED Accredited Centre of Excellence status for Emergency Medical Dispatch. A mark of quality, consistency, and dedication by our incredible NEOC team. 👏🚑
Only 10% of centres worldwide meet this gold standard.
Congrats to Gráinne Muldoon on her retirement today from the Dublin & North East Admin Team in Navan after 22 years of service with @AmbulanceNAS. On behalf of everyone in the NE thanks for all of your work over the years.
Full-Time in @Glenisk O'Connor Park. A peach of a goal from Rory Egan and a well taken penalty from the boot of Dylan Hyland with Offaly's goals. A massive step towards promotion.
Well done, lads 👌. Super performance.
Our unmarked HGV unit was busy on the roads around Dublin today detecting drivers using mobile phones and driving carelessly.
'Worst offender' goes to the driver we noticed steering with their elbows while eating a salad 🤦
Needless to say they got a good dressing down from us.
Our new Emergency Call-taker (EMC) class recently completed their classroom modules.
This week they began the next stage of training: 4 weeks of mentoring in NEOC 📷
Wishing you all the best of luck!
As part of the NEOC Awards last week, heart attack patient Michael spoke to the team about his experience last year. Amazing to hear first hand from the people we've assisted after their recovery ❤
📸 pictured are Michael and his wife Melissa with some of our NEOC team.
Day 11. No electricity. No phone reception. No Internet. And not a single ESB worker to be seen in the area in literally the entire 11 days. Everybody is saying the same thing. Where are all the workmen, Irish or crews brought in from other countries, because we haven't seen a single person. Not 1.
At least the Dail got an extra 2 weeks of holidays.
I'm hearing about so many people in their late 80s and 90s hanging on by a thread. The newspapers and radio stations have basically stopped talking about it. We're old news.
On Christmas Day 8 years ago the world lost one of the greatest singers and songwriters ever, the one and only George Michael. Rest in peace George and thanks for the music. Also, congratulations to Wham! for being Christmas number 1 again.

We’re thrilled that our Ambassador Richard Spencer's powerful documentary My Wife My Abuser will be available on @netflix on October 28th.
Richard's story is a courageous journey, shedding light on the often-hidden experience of men facing domestic abuse. His work challenges perceptions and amplifies the voices of those who may feel unseen and unheard.
At The For Baby's Sake Trust, we are immensely proud to support Richard’s mission to create understanding and drive change around domestic abuse.
Don’t miss this impactful documentary on Netflix – together, we can continue to break down stigma and work toward a world where every parent feels safe and supported.
