with handovers etc, precious time is lost, and that time is crucial, it can be the difference between a baby being born safely and healthy, to a baby sustaining serious injury or dying.

if there is a fetal medical emergency during Labour, evidence is that every minute counts, so even if a laboring mother is transferred quickly (assuming the ambulance is available to take her straight away to the JR)…. 🧵

I wholeheartedly support this campaign. I live in Banbury (not far from the Horton) & on a good day it takes at least 35 minutes to get to the JR. Obvs 🚑 can get there quicker, but… 🧵 banburyguardian.co.uk/health/hospita…

I hope any change is properly implemented, that this isn’t pushed into the ‘long grass’ because the longer it takes for there to be positive change, the more women, their partners and babies will suffer from #BirthTrauma

Just some eg - Not my baby, not my problem -If we give everyone pain relief it will bankrupt the nhs -Lady please cover up, we have builders coming in -One patient in labour was bleeding heavily onto the floor, and the response…to clean it up herself #BirthTrauma #Maternity
