A marvelous essay about a remarkable woman -- and a splendid book.

At my local coffee shop a selection of strange and beautiful flowers, curious shapes and colours. Oh, I say, I would love to buy one of these. Please, the woman says with smiling eyes, just use the QR code! A red mist descends. I leave flowerless.
