🚨 A California bishop has been charged with 18 felony counts of raping children decades ago.
Michael Delar Morris, who served as a bishop for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was recently charged in connection with alleged sexual abuse involving four victims between 1991 and 2001 while supervising a church-affiliated boys’ youth group.
The charges include lewd acts upon a child and sexual penetration by a foreign object.
Morris was arraigned last week and posted $920,000 bail.
When individuals in positions of religious authority are accused of abusing children under their care, it often raises questions about whether institutions prioritized protecting their reputation over the safety of minors.
