On October 10, 2025, at 11:45 a.m., the Dallas Police Central Investigative Unit notified the North Central Crime Response Team of a known retail theft crew who had committed an offense in the 6400 block of E. Mockingbird Lane and left the scene heading northbound on Abrams. After being notified, the North Central Crime Response Team responded to the crew’s next possible offense location, Preston Road and Royal Lane, and waited for them. The Crime Response Team saw the suspect vehicle pull into the location, stopped it, and arrested three juvenile suspects and the driver, 22-year-old Zakerra Jackson. All of the suspects were charged with Theft of Property >$2,500 or <$30,000. Jackson was additionally charged for outstanding warrants out of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. The North Central Crime Response Team recovered more than $21,000 worth of stolen products at the scene and returned the products to the owner. "Thanks to the quick and clever response of our officers, we not only brought justice to the owner but also played a key role in restoring an element of their livelihood," said Major Pollyanna Ashford, North Central Patrol Commander.  “Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.” This investigation is documented on case number 146228-2025.

Today, three Dallas Police Officers were recognized by the State Fair of Texas for their life-saving actions which saved a fairgoer’s life on September 28, 2025. Officer Kevin Thomas, #10816, Officer Pengyao Ji, #12311, and Sgt. David Graham, #5877, were working at the fairgrounds and saw a man suddenly collapse. While calling for Dallas Fire-Rescue, the officers began administering first aid, performing CPR, and retrieving an AED from a nearby building. DFR personnel arrived and transported the man to the hospital, where he was treated and eventually released. We commend these officers for their quick and courageous response! Your decisive actions were vital in saving a life and ensuring the safety of our community we serve.
