Little scoop from me:
Will be interesting to watch if this gets appealed and if it will dissuade those seeking new restrictive covenants in other neighbourhoods.

While Andrew Knack has been on city council for over a decade, his political backstory has deeper roots than that. How did Edmonton’s next mayor go from working in the mall to public office? Find out here:

It was a late night at Alberta legislature, where a trio of bills affecting transgender people have passed the final stage of debate and are set to become law.
LGBTQ+ advocacy groups have already promised to challenge the legislation in court.

I'm working on a story about high school upgrading. I'm looking to chat with someone:
- who is 17-20 years old doing upgrading in Edmonton
- especially if you tried to get a space at centre high, but were turned away.

Canada's #birthrate is at an all-time low. I'm looking to do a radio/web story that goes beyond the numbers at looks at people's decision-making.
I'm looking for:
- a young person who is on the fence about kids
- a "one-and-done" parent

Alberta doctors are once again raising the alarm about the current state of healthcare in this province with no clear response from the provincial government.
From Dr. Paul Parks, the president of the AMA: “It is becoming evident that the system will not hold without immediate government action. Government says that they share our concerns, but without immediate action on key components, I am extremely concerned that they do not understand our dire sense of urgency.”
Our healthcare professionals are shouting for help. When will the UCP listen?

Government has heard the distress call but the rescue awaits. Read today’s President’s Letter on the AMA website: albertadoctors.org/services/media…

Chatting with residents in Jasper over the phone…they say ashes are falling from the sky. Gas stations are backed up, many voluntarily leaving now. Main fire at transfer station near Snaring has apparently jumped highway, Only safe direction out of town is further west on Hwy 16 towards Valemount. That’s where most people are heading now. Still an evacuation alert.

(1of3) Still a bit shocked and quite saddened that the news station where I started/interned- Global News in Kingston, Ontario- pretty much GUTTED their newsroom this wk.
3 VJ's remain, and #Corus says it will allow the company to better focus on breaking news. #journalism #ygk

It was my first foray into archival research and I had so much fun going to the provincial archives to dig up old episodes, letters, and documents. It was published in our undergraduate arts journal Crossings. You can check it out here: crossingsjournal.ca/index.php/cros…
