All in all, my point is no matter how small the scale of AI/Crypto usage in this case is, companies are getting a bit too comfortable. Who knows how far they'd go next, you know? They already have, and tbh I just want this bubble to burst already

Reading the article does not sooth my concern. For what reason does sega need to collab with a biotechnology company that USES AI. The article says that a lot.

SEGA most of your fans are creatives. Your franchises are all creatives. You're all about pushing creativity. How disappointing...

@LackLus98720156 Yeah I know that, which is why it is concerning regardless that they're normalizing this Also, they didn't cancel M&S. EA refuses to renew the franchise/contract because THEY wanted to sell NFTs, so it was out of sega and Nintendo hands..everything else I agree tho.

@Emistations They cancelled Mario & Sonic crossovers for nfts, they partner with Universal Studios which used AI for concept arts. Honestly, why are you all so surprised. Sega are not good guys and never were

@Blizzr_ Even if their damage minimal it all goes back to normalization and ethics in the end. I understand if it's on a smaller scale than it's no big deal, but I don't want companies to get comfortable throwing themselves at any Gen ai company going forward, yk?

@Blizzr_ Gen ai is still bad regardless due to ethical concerns such as the type of data fed, as well as environmental concerns. And even if its usage of crypto/Gen ai is small scale, it is still normalizing collaboration with these kind of companies which can be worse in the future

@lman23129577 The article emphasizes that the company uses ai for its works regardless. So I doubt it is fear mongering. Sure they seem influential but normalizing working with gen ai/not based companies is still a huge red flag, if they do this what else can they get away with?

@Emistations Well according to the guy I retweeted it's fear mongering again, I am not sure and I just finished a Quantum mechanics exam so I really don't feel like researching anything

@Emistations yakuza 3 had a recent rerelease that got panned and one of the actors that played a character in the game was a person that infamously sexually assaulted a hostess. despite this, however, sega had promoted his inclusion and rgg studio removed any comments that criticize this

@rasenburst I read It and my concerns still apply. Collabing with a company known for using Gen ai for its work and a crypto block chain is very concerning.
