EUROPA LEAGUE was never the dream. Not because I didn’t want it. Because if I’m being honest, I never thought it was possible. What kid would? Especially when 12 years ago I was playing non league football in the Ryman Premier and Conference South, just trying to stay alive in the game. What kid dreams about Europe when, two weeks into the off season, his dad has to tell him he’s been released by Watford F.C. over the phone? I was heartbroken. My dad looked at me and said: “What are we doing tomorrow?” To which I replied with the words he’d drilled into me my whole life: “We’re training, Dad.” So we trained. Every single day. My dad emailed every EFL club asking for an opportunity. One club replied. One. That was all I needed. An opportunity. @WealdstoneFC and @wwfcofficial , I’ll always be indebted to you. Then came the move to @SunderlandAFC . A massive club. A massive opportunity. And I couldn’t wait to prove myself. But 45 minutes into my debut… hooked. “Rabbit caught in headlights. Waste of money. Get rid.” Then came the Championship. “He’s not good enough for this level.” Then the Premier League. “Let’s give him a debut and then get rid of him.” I understood the doubt. I’ve faced it my whole career. And truthfully, you doubt yourself too at times. But I’ve always tried to live by one mindset: Outwork your doubt. You don’t always need to see the full journey. You just need to take the next step. Then the next one. And then another. Even when social media tells you you’re not good enough. Even when the voice inside your own head whispers the same thing. Keep working. Keep learning. Keep showing up. Because sometimes the places you end up are bigger than anything your younger self could’ve ever imagined. To any young player reading this, don’t put a ceiling on yourself too early. You genuinely have no idea where this game and life can take you. And to the boys… thank you. You removed the glass ceiling I’d placed on myself. What a team. What a club. What a fanbase. Sunderland… rocking all over Europe ❤️🤍 And in the words of Granit Xhaka: “This is just the beginning.”

2 weeks on from the loss of my daisy girl. I feel the fog starting to lift. My heart is still very broken, but I know she’d want me to be happy. She spent her life making me laugh and happy. Had a little break to Spain which helped a lot.

After the elections yesterday I worry so much for the future of many things. But especially women. These want equality rights gone. That’s maternity leave, equal pay for women etc They voted against the stalking and harassment bill. (They didn’t want a law to protect women)

💔URGENT APPEAL💔💔 One of our rescuers has been feeding this pup for a while, sadly all the other siblings died and this poor pup has been left alone; hiding from the world until the rescuer arrives with food 💔 It’s very timid and used to hide but now every time she arrives with food the pup is a little braver and approaches so we think now our rescuer would be able to get close enough to save him/her. @MoneySavingExp is it correct that from 1st May all renters are able to request installation of a water meter? Previously it was those with a 6 month or longer tenancy. @MartinSLewis our letting agent is saying we aren’t allowed.

@JamesCopley_ we had our DD schedule through for our season tickets one adult and one u21 ticket which had a renewal of £833 the DD’s currently showing as £551 more! Looks like we are paying for someone else’s ticket.

40 YEARS COUNT FOR NOTHING SAFC. I can't believe the way my family have been treated regarding our season tickets, as season ticket holder for last 20-years and hardly missing a home match the last 40-years I have been refused a new season ticket as I want to move from 76 yards to general admission. 2 years ago we moved into the black cats bar as my dad had mobility issues and struggled getting into his seat, we reluctantly agreed to stay when changing to the 76 yards as we new it would be my dad's last season, with help from family/friends we managed to absorb the astonishing price increase from £850 to around £2300. Unfortunately my dad joined the Heaven Branch in February. As we are/we're season ticket holders we presumed we would just move seat next season. When we informed the club we would like to move back to general admission we were told we would have to join the waiting list which had already Been accepting people for 3 weeks. I reached out further to club liason officers and they agreed I had a special case and would review this week's ago, with no reply from latest emails I was loosing hope and have just received a phone call from ticket office to say they have refused my request. After supporting our club through some of the darkest days especially the last 10 years I have now been brushed to one side as they have enough demand to fill the place without my family. @Britgirl0000 @SCD_Rescue Go and see a shelter in Bosnia and see how the dogs are treated and then go to your local dog shelter, it’s like night and day. There a huge organisations looking after UK dogs are you saying that these dogs don’t deserve our help, don’t deserve to be free from pain and misery?

💔 URGENT APPEAL 💔 We have an urgent cry for help for a gorgeous boy who has been hit by a car 💔 Our rescuer witnessed it while feeding street dogs so of course she took him straight to the vet. He isn’t chipped and seems to have been clipped at his front end by the car as he has blood coming from his mouth and neck💔 He was very lucky he wasn’t dragged under the car as apparently the car didn’t even stop💔 We are really in a dilemma as we are barely covering appeals at the moment and have no funds spare to help unless we can raise them. He has been put under so his wound can be treated and he can be neutered - but we really need to raise his funds so we can cover the costs and get him to a pension❤️‍🩹 This boy needs us all and deserves better so we have to try. A message from Wendy about how important our re-hab programme is to the dogs. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 🥹🥹Wow, be prepared to well up with this update🥹🥹 Yesterday I asked Ollie Williams YLDT CDT our trainer who looks after the rehab dogs and helps with our longtermers in kennels, to do a little write up on his rehab superstar of the month 🥹 I wasn’t ready to feel so emotional, so proud of Rea with his response 🥰 This is why we continue with this program. This is why the appeals at the end of the month are so important 🙏🏻⭐️ This is what Ollie said 🥹🥰 ⭐️Rehab Superstar: Rea the Rottweiler⭐️ If I have to choose one dog who represents everything this programme stands for, it has to be Rea. Rea has never had a home. Not once. No sofa to call hers, no familiar footsteps in the kitchen, no steady human to anchor her world. And yet, despite that, she has chosen to try. I can’t name just one thing I’m proud of, because her journey isn’t one single achievement, it’s a collection of brave moments stitched together. She has learned to trust. She has learned to love again. She has learned how to communicate appropriately. She has learned how to play. She has learned how to sit and slow her big feelings. We’ve made wonderful progress with muzzle training. She crate trains regularly and enjoys enrichment. We’ve carefully desensitised household sounds, the TV, the hoover, everyday life noises that once felt overwhelming. We’re still building confidence with car travel, but even there she’s trying. And perhaps the milestone that makes me beam the most… the reactivity work. The hours, the patience, the repetition. Rea walked past another dog she never met, head on, calmly for the first time just yesterday! That is huge. Rea is proof that behaviour is communication, that patience changes lives, and that even a dog who has never had a home can learn what safety feels like. She is, without question, my Rehab Superstar. 🖤
