Men are mostly honourable.. Most women will not do this for you especially when they know they have leverage.
‘Wale Adejimi@Ifwal95

My personal experience on this 👇 After I got my admission to Germany 🇩🇪 in 2020, my girlfriend (now wife) was very skeptical about when I would come back for her. Her concerns were valid, her environment was filled with stories of women who hadn’t seen their husbands for years after they traveled abroad. To be honest, even I didn’t fully know how the future would play out. All I had was my full commitment to her, despite the distance. We prayed about it and agreed to continue with a long distance relationship. The plan was: maybe when I start a PhD, I’d come back, marry her, and take her along. We also started exploring other options like Canada Express Entry along the way etc. But life had a better plan. During my MSc, I got an international job offer from the Netherlands 🇳🇱. In the HR email, they asked me to send the passport details of my wife so they could process her visa to the Netherlands 🇳🇱. I was shocked 😳 I replied immediately to confirm. I told them I wasn’t married yet, but asked: “Do you mean if I’m married, you can sponsor my wife, even if she’s in Nigeria?” They said yes. Omo… I can’t explain the joy I felt that day 😭 That same day, I started planning my wedding 😂 I resumed work in September, traveled to Nigeria in November to marry my babe, and by February, my employer had processed everything and she joined me abroad. Just like that. So yeah… I guess we were lucky. But more than luck, I’d say it was faith, timing, and commitment aligning perfectly.

My boss has an HND in Electrical Engineering. No MSc, no MBA, no foreign stamp on his certificate. But he has over 20 years of solid experience across banking and oil and gas. Under him, we are four team members with MSc and MBA. Recently, someone joined us fresh from the UK with an MSc. But on the job, you quickly understand how things truly work. He's the job, through and through. You can’t mention three people in this company who understand this business deeply and leave him out. It won’t be an honest list. He reads situations faster, spots risks early, and connects dots that most people are still trying to figure out. Certificate never gives you this level of competence. These experience didn't come from the class of his certificate, but because he has seen patterns repeat over the years. This man is a well grounded professional. What we the lads do is humble to his expertise.
Sir J (J9)@SirJarus

I had a first class in economics from OAU. Taiwo had HND in accounting from Yabatech. Imagine saying I am more qualified than Taiwo as Finance Minister simply because of first degree gotten 20 years ago and not what he has done subsequently. What happens to all he has done in 27 years after the 4 years he spent in school?

My friend in the UK called me today and offered to fly me out. Visa money, flight money, everything covered. I said no. He told me there was no plan waiting for me there but that I could find a cleaning job or "at least escape Nigeria." I told him to send the money instead so I could put it into a business here. He was disappointed. That's his business. I have zero interest in relocating abroad without a plan. I am not leaving Nigeria to go and clean toilets in the UK because someone wants me to feel like I have arrived. That is not an upgrade. That is a relocation of suffering. I want to be established here, build something real, and then travel abroad on vacation as a man with options. Not as someone who fled. The only reason I would ever consider relocating is to make serious money, and even then, it must be a concrete plan. Not a cleaning job. Not a "you'll figure it out." Not a one-way ticket to survival mode in someone else's country. Japa without a plan is just poverty with a foreign accent. Nigeria has my frustrations but it also has my vision. I am staying. Above all, love God.
