Incredibly proud of our new paper 🙌🏼 @LissBEE_CPSP @DrAJCampbell Have a read on what we found on health care professionals' use of Instagram. Based on the advantages & dangers we've identified, we suggest ways they can maximize its use to reach & engage w/ their target audience
Dr Liss (Melissa Brunner)@LissBEE_CPSP

Another paper out this week, this time with @KrestinaAmon & @DrAJCampbell! The Reel Health Care Professionals of Instagram: A Systematic Review doi.org/10.1089/cyber.… My fave part is Table 3 'Ways in Which Health Care Professionals Can Maximize Their Instagram Engagement' 🤘🏼

For an infographic to be meaningful and engaging, it must involve aspects that allows the audience to make a connection. The colour and images can allow the audience to evoke interest and attention, along with an organised structure of relevant health information. #HSBH2009

The Aesthetic Learning Experience Analysis Instrument (Dunlap & Lowenthal, 2016) characteristics for an effective infographic design as per mine below rely on simplicity. This creates health information that is accessible for lay audiences to understand and apply. #HSBH2009

#HSBH2009’s module on ‘gamification’ (applying game elements to activities) made me think back to the 2016 Pokémon Go craze. Everyone was engaging in physical activity to collect these virtual creatures, making it a perfect example of gamification! apps.apple.com/au/app/pok%C3%…

Had my hands on creating an infographic that incorporated aspects of immediacy, malleability, compellingness, resonance and coherence in this week’s #HSBH2009 tutorial. Let me know what you think? 🙌🏼

Take back!!! This recording room was well equipped, clean, and very accessible. Should I start a podcast? Speaking of which - did you know that roughly 6% of the 3.02 million podcasts available today are about "Health and Fitness"? eHealth is so accessible! #HSBH2009

@esthersng_ Such a great question! If any other #HSBH2009 students can think of strategies to sustain engagement with games (particularly those that benefit our health) let us know!

@EmmaVDSchyff Thanks Emma! I really enjoyed the article there; it got me thinking of the kind of design elements that Pokémon Go could incorporate in future updates to encourage sustained behavioural change, beyond the initial novelties of the game 🤔 #HSBH2009

I’ve recently been playing Pokémon Go again and I’m pretty amazed that it has already increased my step count significantly (with a weekly average of 9899 steps taken just from this past week!). Fingers crossed that this will be the start of a healthier lifestyle!🤞🏻⚡️#HSBH2009
