@GeorgyKapchits Yes, I will likely be using it even after the tutorial activity as I really love the game elements that the app incorporates! As for my walking goals, I'm okay with keeping it at 10K (for now) as it's in that sweet spot of not being overly easy or difficult to attain! :)

@esthersng_ @esthersng_ Would you keep using the fitness tracker after the tutorial activity? Would you adjust your walking goal from 10,000 steps and why?

Last week's #HSBH2009 tutorial activity had me trialing the StepsApp to track my steps; what I really liked about it was its incorporation of features such as 'awards' and 'ring-closing' visuals; this use of gamification really motivated me to get walking! 💪

Thanks for sharing, Chermaine! Like you, I too am doubtful of this nurse-led model for rural areas; there is just so much that needs to be considered (e.g., data and privacy, technological availability) for this model to effectively cater to one's preferences and needs! #HSBH2009

According to @ChannelNewsAsia, clinician scientists in Singapore and Japan have begun using surgical robots to conduct telesurgery trials; this could foster greater collaborations among surgeons, if successful. What are your thoughts? #HSBH2009 youtube.com/watch?v=BF7N3P…

This week's #HSBH2009 lecture about VR's use in healthcare piqued my interest in its use for surgery and got me thinking about how revolutionary it would have been as a training tool during the pandemic. Here's a link for anyone who may be interested too: youtube.com/watch?v=BDeTY5…

@Andrejhealth I agree! I think it’s so important for developers to keep all communities in mind when designing eHealth solutions so that such do not exacerbate inequities but strive to reduce them instead. #HSBH2009

@esthersng_ Hey Esther, facilities and staff are expensive requirements for many healthcare services. However, eHealth provides a unique opportunity in healthcare as it could be greatly more affordable if proper infrastructure is developed, reducing financial limitations for all. #HSBH2009

@esthersng_ Personally, I like reading a chapter of a physical book before going to bed. This helps me distracting attention from phone. Besides, I can concentrate for a while and have a good sleep. Also, I like doing a little stretch to relax body. Hopefully this could help :)) #HSBH2009

This week’s #HSBH2009 lecture on the impacts of social media on health made me reflect on my own social media usage (yikes!) and think about how I could use it more effectively so that it'd be less likely to contribute negatively to my health. Any suggestions, anyone? 🤔

@esthersng_ Such a fantastic infographic, Esther! I would rate it very highly on all the aspects that Dunlap and Lowenthal outlined! 🤩

Had my hands on creating an infographic that incorporated aspects of immediacy, malleability, compellingness, resonance and coherence in this week’s #HSBH2009 tutorial. Let me know what you think? 🙌🏼

@clstnbae Hm, that really explains why my mind is always so active after I scroll TikTok at night! 😨 Do you have any tips on how I/we can change this habit? :) #HSBH2009

@esthersng_ Hi Esther! I recently read an article discussed social media and sleep disturbance. The results indicated a strong correlation between increased social media use and low sleep quality, so I recommend you not to look at your phone before going to bed. What do you think? #HSBH2009

@RobinLiao3 Oh yes that’s so true! Knowing this, I think it’s important for people to be more mindful of their phone usage before bed and to perhaps swap their in-bed scrolling habits out with something more meaningful like reading a book? 🤔 #HSBH2009

@RobinLiao3 Whoa! That’s so interesting. Did the literature explain how this develops into mental health issues? Would love to find out more! #HSBH2009

@annabellehsbh Hey Annabelle! Great suggestion there :) I was also thinking that time limits might be useful to prevent too many hours spent passively scrolling 🤔 Or perhaps, even occasional social media detoxes would be useful to get out of the virtual space. What do you think? #HSBH2009

@esthersng_ Hey Esther! I would suggest being selective about which platforms to use, and eliminate your presence on those that don't align with your goals or values. You could try consider which platforms are most valuable to you and prioritise them! (p.s I need to do the same😆) #HSBH2009

@sharonhsbh2009 I totally agree! However, reading the article also made me wonder if AI could potentially do more harm than good for certain communities in society today. What do you think? #HSBH2009

@esthersng_ This was quite an interesting read! Particularly the developments that could arise in precision medicine are very beneficial to the future of healthcare. I was surprised that the use of AI might be implemented in the next 5-10 #hsbh2009

This week’s peek into AI in the #HSBH2009 tutorial piqued my interest to learn more about how it can be applied in healthcare settings today. Here’s a link for those who may be interested too: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…

Its been about a month since I’ve started on my Pokémon Go ventures and I’m happy to report that I’ve still been consistently clocking in my steps!⚡️Perhaps it’s time to aim for a 15,000 weekly steps average next? 😬#HSBH2009

Just had an interesting tour around CreateSpace where we looked at some technology-driven tools and their uses in health. Certainly, one that stood out for me was about how 3D printing could be used to assist in organ transplants. Just how revolutionary is that?! 😱 #HSBH2009
