Celebrities, pastors, activists, politicians, and global leaders all raised their voices, demanding urgent action from the government of President Goodluck Jonathan. Among those who publicly condemned the situation at the time was the current President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Today, reports indicate that over 40 children were kidnapped in Oyo State, and for more than two weeks, many Nigerians have watched in painful silence. What is most troubling is not just the tragedy itself, but the seeming absence of the same level of national outrage, activism, and collective pressure we witnessed in 2014. The hashtag #BringBackOurKids is barely being amplified. Many voices that were once loud and relentless now appear silent. This is not about politics or attacking any administration. It is about consistency, humanity, and the value we place on every Nigerian child, regardless of who is in power. If we could unite to speak for Chibok in 2014, we should also unite to speak for these children today. Every kidnapped child deserves urgency. Every parent deserves hope.
