There’s a reason the UFC “favours” certain fighters as champions, and people don’t want to say it. Some fighters, because of Ramadan, are basically unavailable for a big part of the year….they won’t fight before it, won’t fight during, and after it they still need a full camp. So realistically you’re getting maybe 1–2 fights a year max. And before people say “but we’ve some fight in those periods”. yes… when they’re not champions. Contenders will do whatever it takes to earn the belt, champions don’t have to. That’s the difference. The UFC is a business, they need active champions. If you can’t defend consistently, they’ll lean toward fighters who can. It’s not bias… it’s availability.
