@EmsTheKat

I rarely use this thing to actually say anything of value. Trans, queer, she/her For some reason this bio upsets bigots, so I'm keeping it the same.

so the michael movie doesn't even acknowledge the fact that he killed his 17 year old sister when he was 6?????? or when he broke out of a sanitarium 15 years later to go on a killing spree????

@TinyGemini34 @archaicf0ssil The writers would have considered a lot of things, you can't really judge a show for what they could have done rather than what they did As is its explained by the prophets that the second vision he has was the pah waiths trying to corrupt the first vision in order to confuse him

@EmsTheKat @archaicf0ssil I guess it’s more on that episode for retroactively ruining this episode’s original intent but the fact that the writers ever considered it is utterly egregious even if this show was standalone and not part of a wider universe.

@TinyGemini34 @archaicf0ssil I don't see how. Its just a vision given to Sisko by the prophets, it doesn't really impact the show as a whole.

@archaicf0ssil It’s simultaneously one of the best TV episodes and worst DS9 episodes. It’s written amazingly but effectively shits on the entity of Trek at the same time.

@blacknredtext He didn't have time travel powers in that episode. His power was being very good at scheduling, which is somehow actually far superior.

@fandompulse It would be bad if it weren't for the line "I did fall asleep reading a particularly erotic part of my grandmothers diary" intentional or not, that alone makes the episode funny enough to be worth it.

Beverly Crusher actress Gates McFadden reveals Patrick Stewart hated what's widely regarded as Star Trek: TNG's worst episode: “When I saw the ‘Sub Rosa’ script, I was like, ‘You are kidding me.’ Patrick hated it. He was like ‘This is absurd’ and all. And when you read it, there are so many completely absurd things in it. And it’s more like a little a Gothic, I don’t know horror or something, but yeah, now I embrace it because I think it is hilarious. I mean, I just, I’ve learned to love the green-eyed orgasm that Crusher has, you know? I mean, that doesn’t happen every day, a green-eyed orgasm…” Is it hilarious or is it just plain bad?

I read a book a couple years ago called “make the bread buy the butter” - a woman did EVERY homemade thing she could think of, from pastry to keeping a beehive in order to figure out what was worth the time and effort. She says you should buy the butter Just buy really hq butter if u need it to be super nice and home made feeling. The butter u make at home is probably not better than store bought, probably not cheaper, definitely not easier. She says DEFINITELY make ur own vanilla tho. That’s for sure worth it.

We’ve legit lost the plot. I honestly have zero idea what people are looking for these days but there needs to be a major shift in criticism. The movie I saw was well written, well directed, beautifully shot, insanely well performed and the sound was amazing. Are we “film” critics or not. We’re supposed to help paint the picture of what an audience can anticipate and this score is not even close to that picture, objectively.

@WJoKovac @idoideas @jonesvibesonly The movie portrays his insecurities, his loneliness, the Pepsi accident, and the abuse from his father—all of that was real. The second one would pick up where he’s finally free from his father. The end of part 1 definitely leaves you intrigued, feeling like there is more.

@proudhillbillyy @KubrickPoint A major motion picture financed by the "global elites" that is almost a word for word adaptation of a 100 year old novel that already had a feature film made from it...oh my god! Kubrick died just four days after delivering what was reportedly the final cut of Eyes Wide Shut to Warner Bros., after a long, secretive shoot. Friends, family, and the cast and crew said his death was completely unexpected, and he never seemed in poor health during production.

@evedieule @TheJakeChristie Because presenting a character as having no flaws is awful storytelling. The main appeal of a biopic is to see the man behind the image, if you just want to see Jackson singing and dancing then you might as well just watch one of his many music videos.

@lesbianhedonic @EricMFriel @RetroMoviesDB That's different to saying it was 1000 years before hebrew slavery. While it's likely that the slavery mentioned in exodus never happened, the film operates on the the premise that it did. But yeah either way the language would be different enough that he shouldn't recognise it

@EmsTheKat @EricMFriel @RetroMoviesDB * Israelites did not emerge until 1000-500BC, still many hundreds of years later * Canaanite slaves did exist, but they spoke proto-Hebrew while the actor is speaking modern Israeli Hebrew-- the two spoken languages have almost zero audible similarities

@RetroMoviesDB "No, slaves did not build the Egyptian pyramids. Archaeological evidence, including the discovery of workers' villages and tombs near the Giza pyramids, indicates they were built by a skilled, well-fed, and rotating labor force of tens of thousands of paid Egyptian laborers."
