@CTOAdvisor @awscloud They bury the baseline bandwidth / burst bandwidth characteristics in the docs (here: #general-purpose-network-performance" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/…).

I've been looking at @AWSCloud speeds and feeds from instance to instance. It's a much more difficult comparison than in the data center. AWS tunes each instance type based on their priorities. IE two instances may have the same features, with networking being the difference. There's a big difference between "up to 25Gbps" and "25 Gbps." It's almost a meaningless description given the importance of network bandwidth for a given application.

@GergelyOrosz For people doubting, I remember saving the February screenshot because I was in shock of how much impact it had. The real question is what will be said on the earnings call next Tuesday and what kind of guidance they issue for FY'24.

As someone that led the first round of COGS cuts to the tune of almost $50M, there's a lot more that can be done. I wanted to keep going, the market rewarded the free cash flow by lifting the share price +16% on the February earnings call. News on selling the company..+10%.

Private equity usually buys pure software tech companies when they sense an opportunity to operate the company more profitable / better than current management.
If a PE company would pay $5B for New Relic: they later want to sell it off/make an exit of much more than $5B.

wsj.com/articles/softw… New Relic is apparently going to be sold to private equity for $5b. Datadog has 6x the market cap, despite only having a little over 2x the revenue of New Relic.
