@MercifulMessage How would you feel if you found out the guy you were following said all scriptures of Jews and Christians were true and that his words confirmed them, that he said God's words couldn't be corrupted, but then his words were wildly in conflict with those scriptures?

I don’t give a rats rear end what ppl in Mauritania do In Afghanistan In Pakistan Anywhere If it contradicts the Mercy and guidance of Muhammad ﷺ Then it is abhorrent and NOT from Islam
Dr. Maalouf ‏@realMaalouf

The traditional gavage practice of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania is a custom that forcibly fattens girls aged 5-15 for marriage. They are force-fed milk or high-calorie foods several times a day. If they refuse, they are subjected to torture and having their toes crushed.

@muffintickle94 @MuslimsMatters Go through your Quran and seek the names of Allah. Look for verses of comfort and compassion from your Allah. This is not the holy, loving God of Christianity.

@TheSkepticWiz Faith is not a leap in the dark; it’s the exact opposite. It’s a commitment based on evidence It’s irrational to reduce all faith to “belief w/o evidence” and then subject it to ridicule. That provides a very anti-intellectual & convenient way of avoiding intelligent discussion.

@Mephisto2026 @TheSkepticWiz Verbal diarrhea. There are 1000s of documents including the Dead Sea scrolls that prove that what we have is reliable. The sleepy scribe errors, as you call them, aren't cumulative as though going through many generations on a copy machine. We have reliable text. Mic drop!

Utter fucking nonsense you speak. By not having any original documents, then how can you say that we have only minor editorial changes or slight errors made by sleepy scribes? (That is what you are alluding to). In fact, yes, most errors are accidental but these texts have also been heavily doctored to fit a particular Christian narrative, for example, the Comma Johanneum, as found within 1 John (5:7) does not exist at all in all our earliest and best manuscripts, and neither does the woman caught in adultery, as found in the gospel of John, chapter 8, so the idea that Jesus (or the author of 1 John) uttered these words is pure fabrication. The entire story of Jesus talking to Nicodemus, as found in the gospel of John, chapter 3, is also a pure fabrication, for Jesus to have had that conversation, Jesus and Niccodemus would have been speaking fluent Koine Greek, and we do know that Jesus was an Aramaic speaking jew from rural Gailiee. That would be like me going to the pub here in the UK with a mate, and all we did was converse in Japan even though we both are English speaking Brits. Also, we know that whoever was the author of Mark, he did not know of the virgin birth narrative, for it is not found within any of the copies we have, and yet, he seems to be the first author that we know of that wrote a type of biography of Jesus, and Paul, our earliest author of Christian texts that we have, also never mentions this virgin story, why is that? Because the earliest Christians did not believe in that Jesus was a member of a triune God system, nor that he came to earth via a virgin's womb so that his creation could torture, humiliate and kill him so that he can forgive them and us of such barabarity and sin (this is a major story, which neither the author of Mark or Paul would have committed from their texts had they been aware of them). We have contradiction after contradiction and bad histories embedded within those texts, and you think, with all the mess that we actually find in these scriptures, that somehow we can be assured that Jesus uttered or did do certain things during and after his ministry? This is asinine thinking, it is the logic or an illiterate child. Fact is, we cannot know if Jesus actually existed nor what he said or did if he did exist. Even the crucifixion story alongside the empty tomb has major flaws in it. Rational and intelligent people would simply accept that they are all hearsay accounts, writing by heavily biased people who had converted to the Jesus cult, and those who could read and write (which were few) did indeed distort the stories they heard for their own reasons. What makes it more hilarious is none if our earliest Christian documents were written in the language Jesus would have spoken, they are written in a foreign language. So, please, start taking the red pills and throw out all the blue pills that the your church gave you.

When Christians claim they can ‘coexist’ with other religions, this image itself proves otherwise. If Jesus is the only bridge, then by definition all other paths are denied. Religion doesn’t unite humanity, it draws lines that DIVIDE it.

@Mephisto2026 @TheSkepticWiz Nice try. If we had the absolute original text, it could be altered. Having 100s of copies that occasionally have a small error in different places, you can be certain beyond any rational doubt that you know what was on the original. Doubt at that point is a decision.

I get frustrated at even scholars I like, like Bart Ehrman, who claims that there are certain things we can be sure that Jesus said, however, he completely ignores his own points when he says that what we have are copies of copies of copies of copies of texts, writing by Greek-speaking authors, who didn't even live in the region that Jesus had his ministry, and had therefore never knew Jesus personally nor ever heard him utter a single syllable, who, in some instances deliberately changed the text to suit their own theological message. Scholars sometimes do not use enough caution when stating what Jesus said or what Jesus did, just because a piece of ancient writing tells us so, does not make it so - this is not an argument that leads to facts, it is personal opinion masqueradingas esoteric knowledge. Scholars argue amongst themselves what Jesus may have said historically or not, the fact remains, that all we really have are texts written by non-eyewitnesses, decades after the death of Jesus, and therefore every saying, deed of action attributed to Jesus is all hearsay, and these hearsay accounts where corrupted during their transmissions. If Ehrman really believes that he is one of the world's expert on Jesus's historical life and sayings, maybe he should take up the gauntlet thrown down at his feet by Richard Carrier and debate the historical Jesus. I think that he refuses to debate him because Carrier would highlight major flaws in his thinking, and these flaws should not be allowed to come to light. And I say this as a fan of Ehrman (I must admit that I also like Carrier's work), as I've learnt a lot from his stuff. So for me, when someone quotes a sayingof Jesus, I ask them to prove he said any such thing! Because I know that they can't.

@TheSkepticWiz All other religions say Jesus is a way. Jesus said he is The Way. All other religions say if you are good and kind you're ok. Christianity says you're not, that you're dead in sin until you are redeemed by God's grace in Jesus Christ. All others say what you want to hear.

It might be more rational to realize that God of the Bible is a monster. It might be even more dangerous to follow the immorality of the Bible. It might be even more dangerous to believe that it is justified to sacrifice the innocent for the sins of the guilty.
