If you watched your mother suffer and vowed never to be like her that is valid. But punishing your husband and your children for what your father did is not healing. That is transfer of trauma. Your home deserves better than that. Your children deserve better than that.

Did some of you marry for love? Or did you marry to revenge what your mother went through? Or to show your husband exactly how your mother treated your father? Because marriage is not a battleground for childhood wounds.

The average Nigerian is an individualistic coward. He cares only about himself & his family. He also doesn't care about merit or competence, but tribal nepotism & religious affiliation. He will rather pray in church to an unseen God & give testimonies about how his own life gets better. If he is offered a bag of rice or a heavy sum of money, he will accept it without thought of what the future holds. He will always give excuses when it is time to show courage and tell the uncomfortable truth to the government. He will rather come online to rant about his problems and go back to them in reality. He has no hope of a better future for his kids. He has no legacy to pass on. He is just a survivor who scrapes by everyday to survive. A literal living dead.
