@BRyvkin Death Wish is a really underrated movie. The first half takes us through Paul's conversion from Liberal to vigilante. And then you get to watch the police try to figure him out, rooting for both cops and killer.

@SandyofCthulhu Oh, much of the writing was really clever. And all four were natural hams for the camera. (Davy had originated the Artful Dodger in Oliver!). The show was manic. If a gag didn't work, another was coming right at you.

I watched their TV show religiously. My more “hip” friends kept telling me the Monkees were fake but I did not care. It’s not like Samantha on Bewitched was a real witch, either.
That show was very funny. I have no idea how it would hold up today. A lot of old comedy TV gets “stale”. Used to love Laugh-In and All in the Family and watching them today they go over like a turd in the punchbowl.
so I’m a little afraid to re-watch the Monkees.

@nedryun If this series is based David Nasaw's biography, The Patriarch, I would watch. That was a very honest, warts and all, account of Kennedy's life. In short, Joe Kennedy was America's greatest SOB of all time, and an honest portrayal would be compelling.

The entire Kennedy obsession is pretty weird TBH. Joe Kennedy made his fortune as a bootlegger during Prohibition. Then JFK not exactly a moral person; kind of disgusting and Camelot is/was a fiction. Teddy Kennedy also a piece of work.

You Can’t Take it With You is one of my favorites and underrated, IMO.
