@CFCCentral3 Not even defending them but PSG as an example is ironic because they’ve burnt through BILLIONS to arrive at this point. And, it was as a result of their star player ditching them that they changed strategy.

Rosenior is an easy scapegoat but it's easy to see past him once you realize how out of his depth he is. Direct your anger towards the woefully incompetent Sporting Directors who have taken 4 years to build a side that PSG built in half the time and with less expenditure.

@SenegalComps Would be great option for Chelsea. Good ability to carry and evade pressure, has different passing solutions to create openings, can duel and can contribute to scoring. Great all rounder.

@ChicagoDmitry Don’t think he is a “gamble” unless media narrative is at play. But listing teams *i think* would do it: Arsenal, Villa, Spurs, Newcastle, Atlético, PSG(benched new GK they signed). New SCR rule will make 40m a ridiculous fee for a keeper, so I hear that point.

@EngimaFootball I think you're significantly overestimating how many teams are willing to pay for gambles. £40m for Sanchez would make him the fifth most expensive keeper of all time. I don't see which team does that.

Here's a little dumb graphic I made to illustrate the problem with the SDs' strategy. We were told that we can be self sustainable by buying prospects, keeping the best and generating revenue by selling the ones that aren't good enough.

@ChicagoDmitry English tax + the team buying him can runaway with narrative of “Chelsea sign 100 players, how can anyone do well there”. If (doubt it) Anselmino, stays fit rest of the season you definitely can make good profit. Wouldn’t sell him but Sanchez is definitely worth 40m

@EngimaFootball I think its pretty unlikely anyone gambles 40m on him after this season. Getting our money back for him is probably best case scenario.

Elliot Anderson will probably go for £100M but they’re great alternatives who will go for cheaper like Mateus Fernandes. This all round midfield archetype doesn’t need to go for 100M unless they’re clearly the best itw at one aspect of the game and no glaring weakness.

We were meh under Enzom too but one thing I always gave him credit for was the fact we always had numbers in the box when JP wasn't up top You had a 9 crashing the box, a winger farpost, one of Enzo or Cucu making a late run while the other also attacked the 6
#ExtremelyStrongPedroNetoHater@forzabbbb

It’s acc not his fault funny enough. We’ve looked similar under Maresca this season especially mainly due to our squad make up

@rajsinghchohan Neto ain’t that good, but replace him with Garnacho and maybe top 3. And, you’re really overestimating Enzo ability to defend. Even I want him deeper but lack of defensive IQ or any sort of athleticism makes it hard to fit him anywhere but as a 10.

@rajsinghchohan De Zerbi wouldn't have matched Maresca return of result. Maybe he would have been better than Pochettino

@u_Thato If we won more people would realise how similar our issues are to the issues people make fun of Arsenal for. 6 Defenders on the pitch at a time, relying on set-pieces and only giving freedom to your fullbacks to roam the pitch.

@rajsinghchohan Thoughts on Nico Paz being that guy, great passing range and physical presence, he doesn’t feel quite “slippery” enough to be a no. 10, would greater of his skillset and problem solving to use him deeper + he has good shooting technique for long shots. Madrid only issue.

Unless Kovacic can be restored to his previous version, I think the transfer that Man City should prioritise most is another midfielder who can accompany Nico G or Rodri in a double pivot and contribute to relentless possession domination and defensively contribute. Their identity is tilting too much to an un-Pep like philosophy where they have to defend too much without the ball and I do not think their squad is geared up for that.

Would consider Andrey for JP, move Neto up top and Enzo left side 441. Pump it into the channel for Neto the second you win the ball At the same time JP been v good as a focal point so wouldn't be shocked if there's no subs tbf

@Bd_irB_ll We’ve signed so different type of wingers but just none suit what we need. Unless Palmer is playing on the RW all you will get as Support being a Chelsea winger is Cucurella as no.10 or Enzo Fernandez underlaps.

@sthsthburner His anger probably more to do with the fact he supports Spurs and they relying on a Paliniha x Bentancur pivot to have 120 touches a game. They’ve crossed over 1xG like 2 times this season… I’d be pissed too.

So funny seeing this discourse constantly being repeated in a bunch of major sports worldwide. "NBA players don't shot middies anymore""QBs ain't what they used to be""football has no creativity" Then you turn on the TV and see Shai, Lamar Jackson, Palmer lighting up the screen
Harry Brooks@hbrooks_coach

Me and my colleague said this the other day. Football as an entity is in danger of no longer being the biggest global sport in the world. Because it simply just isn’t entertaining anymore.

So, what is the prevailing theory on why Brighton decided to plan him out instead of just using him themselves? Looking at their AM depth, I'm not that convinced every single one of them is better.

So I'll say this: At least in highlights, Facundo Buonanotte looks like he has some juice. And his numbers from last season are actually pretty good (especially compared to fellow BlueCo acquisition Enciso, for whom mclachbot just returns the picture of steaming turd).

In all seriousness. What do you think about all these players doing statements. Players and representatives sign a contract. They are not forced to sign. It’s a choice.

🚨 OFFICIAL: Yoane Wissa releases statement asking to leave Brentford as he wants to join Newcastle. “Over the past few weeks, there has been increased speculation about my future at Brentford Football Club. As a result, I wanted to speak directly and honestly about exactly where things stand. “I have stayed silent for much of the summer, but with just hours remaining of the transfer window I feel compelled make it clear that I want to leave Brentford. I believe the club are unduly standing in my way despite a series of fair offers throughout the summer. “I have always given 100 percent for Brentford since the day I signed back in 2021. I am proud of what we have built together and have never taken the opportunity to play for the club for granted. “Brentford fans will always have a special place in my heart. And I have always conducted myself professionally, both on and off the pitch. It has been a privilege to wear this shirt for 149 games and celebrate 49 goals. “Earlier this summer, I held open discussions with the club’s senior management, including key directors and the new head coach. I made clear my intention to explore a new challenge. “During these conversations, it was confirmed to me and my representatives that the club would not stand in my way if a reasonable offer was received. This was also put in writing. “Based on this understanding, I sought to find a new club, keeping Brentford informed with full transparency at every step. “I received a formal offer from another Premier League club and communicated I wanted to join. I was under the impression, from all my conversations with Brentford, that there was a mutual agreement to part ways. “Yet as the window comes to an end, the club has now significantly changed its position, going against what was communicated. This has left me in a difficult and frustrating position. The promise that I could leave this summer has not been fulfilled. It saddens me to have to write that, and I maintain total respect for the club and its fans. “I want to make it clear that I have not acted unprofessionally, nor do I wish to leave Brentford on bad terms. I have been transparent in my position throughout. I have continued to communicate openly with the club and conduct myself in a way that reflects my values as both a footballer and a human being. “I remain hopeful that a fair and reasonable resolution can still be found before the transfer window shuts. “In the meantime, I must do what I feel is right for my career and family and insist that Brentford honour their promise to let me join a new club and at a fair price. “I want to thank all the Brentford fans for their support and understanding during this difficult situation. Your energy and belief in me has always meant a great deal. This has never been about walking away from what is a fantastic football club. It’s about being allowed to move forward with Brentford's blessing based on repeated promises that I could leave for a new chapter this summer. “Being made to stay beyond this summer will only tarnish four wonderful years at this incredible club and so I ask Brentford’s owners and directors to now honour their promise to let me leave in the final hours of the window."
