@virtualized6ix oh you have your CCIE?? How was that? First off congrats. What do you think is a reasonable rate for a CCIE + 5-10 years of enterprise networking experience?

@EngineeredEV It was a crazy ass certification but like I never renewed mine after 4 years of having it. And by itself likely won’t command 275K. But having a good slice of that knowledge + experience in other areas/domains gets you there…

@BurginTech Yeah that’s why I’m like, I’m sure there are opportunities out there. They’re just not super common from what I see. I’ve see 2 network roles paying $450k. I know a CCIE would get something like that.

@EngineeredEV Some people on Reddit swear CCIE not worth it anymore but like any decent cert mfs will pay you to sit on a contract if you have it. CCIE at any half decent company clear 200K+ and you also opened up to a world of consulting opportunities id imagine as well.

@lavidalocaaaaa_ like g. this ain’t makin no sense. network roles are getting harder and harder. the pay shouldn’t be decreasing. i don’t think people can blame us for jumping ship when we’re seeing all these cloud roles paying damn near $200k and fully remote.

@EngineeredEV Nahh, you’re right. I’m seeing CCNP salaries decrease monthly. Idk why they take networking as a joke. Like, I didn’t get it. I’m going the cloud route bc the time investment of the CCNP and the salaries aren’t aligning. You need a CCNP ANDD Python, Palo, terraform etc smh
