Just finished this for #bookclub. Lively, enriched characters - though some felt unnecessary to the story. Predictable ending. Going away for 10 days on Sunday, more planning is going into the books I'm taking than clothes!

Picked this up in London back in January and finished this morning. I enjoyed the politics and finance aspects more than the characters. The pacing seemed off, too. First half was too slow and the second too rushed, needed a bit of balance. 2/5 IMO. 📖📚

3 rejections now for a second in department role. Starting to lose motivation. It takes so long to apply, tailoring the statement to each individual school

Emotional week as I have finally told the students that I am leaving at Easter. There were tears, cheers, and now beers. Still 3 weeks to go. Not sure I'm stable enough to say goodbye 😭

Finished this belter earlier in the week. Another audiobook, but felt different hearing @jimmy9 read it to me. As an avid cricket and lancashire fan, I loved hearing about his career, especially as he came from down road from me. Shame he's a dingle, though. #ohjimmyjimmy

@thegyth you wonderful, brilliant author. I stumbled across the first novel and have been hooked ever since. Can't believe I have to wait for the next after that ending! Going to go out on a limb... better than Coban. @netflix these need a series.

Just finished @Freida_McFadden's 'The Boyfriend' (audiobook). Loved it. Couldn't turn it off so finished in record time. So many twists and turns it was like a roller coaster. Just when I thought I'd figured it out, another twist. Amazing. What should I listen to next?

@MissSFEnglish State expectations as you lap. 'I'm coming looking at your opening sentences' then narrate the positives and do shout outs as you go around. Stamps and stickers still work at ks4 if used carefully.

I need to hear some tips on how to deal with motivating students. I have a class where you set a task and they continue to stare into space and take forever to get started - and then kinda lazy when they do 🤷🏼‍♀️ independence is massively lacking! Any advice?

Another week, another audio book finished, ACOTAR by @SJMaas. Really wasn't sure at first as fantasy isn't my go to, but it grew on me. Beauty and the Beast with sexy fairies. I won't go into my audio book woes; between @Spotify and @audible_com my new obsession is expensive!

I'm now hooked on audiobooks. Just finished The Thursday Murder Club by @richardosman (I know I'm late to the party!). Even stayed up later than normal to finish. Such wonderful, funny characters, with a perfect mix of depth and mystery. Shame the next isn't included on Spotify.

To add to my last. It was my first proper audio book experience. As an English teacher, u enjoy the feel of I a book between my fingers, but the freedom to listen while driving and doing housework was truly liberating. On to my next...

Finished listening to 'It Ends With Us'. I enjoyed it; it was perfect to be made into a film with some of the visual moments. It had some '50 shades' moments, so I can see why there was a lot of buzz around it. I felt like the second half was rushed and almost too neat. IMO.

Just finished my first @yourpaperquest book 'The Final Season' by @andrewgillsmith. Took me a while as there was too much narrator and not enough character for me. I loved the story, but the narrative passed between characters without going back and maintaining their depth IMO.

@UnchainedHt @Positivteacha Sometimes, the breaks are worse than working, and that's OK. My half term was this week. Filled it with coffee and catch ups. Today, I've been on my own. Booked my MOT and went to Costa and marked while it was done. Surviving with purpose.

Friday night CPD watching Blood Brothers at Blackpool Winter Gardens. Amazing show (as always) in a beautiful theatre. Refreshed and ready to teach it to year 9. Although, no matter the important themes, their favourite quote will be "tits, tits, tits!"

Cried in the bath for an hour reading the end of @Snoopytodd's 'Small Acts of Kindness' such a heartwarming story of love and friendship. The characters will stay with me ❤️ Thank you @Bookishcrick for my blind date with a book. It was perfect. book-ish.co.uk/product/small-…
