@m_chiles @LHS_HighSchool Morning @m_chiles this looks really interesting. We’ve worked on something similar and have a timetabled lesson we call ‘Foundation Learning’. Are you open to a DM chat about it / a bit of idea sharing?

@Nikki__Sullivan Very thought provoking! We love the idea of a culture of error at our school and it was wonderful to hear it so conceptually articulated. Thank you! #ConnectEdLive

Blown away by the response. Think I replied to everyone but DM if not. There is brilliant thinking out there which has shaped this work. @teacherhead @Josh_CPD @ollie_lovell @HFletcherWood to name a few. Would love to hear thoughts on how I’ve tried to support teacher thinking

Finishing this off this afternoon.. always a labour of love. Really hope our teachers approve of how I’ve tried to pull together where we are, where we want to get to and how we’re going to reframe some thinking so we can get moving! Next year’s priority - responsive teaching

The best professional learning amplifies the good that people are already doing; rather than pointing out where they are wrong.

@TeacherBusy @Team_English1 Ours - 1 teacher for both quals. Mix of Lit and Lang over the 2 years. The best answers come from developing maturity so doesn’t make much sense (to me at least) to rigidly compartmentalise and definitely not enter early. In many ways they are complementary. Outcomes are strong.

English teachers: In what order do you teach your GCSE Lit and Lang courses to your yr 10s and 11s and do you find it has an effect on their outcomes at GCSE? Interested in hearing as many approaches as possible so please RT. @Team_English1 #TeamEnglish

@Strickomaster Swings and roundabouts, Sam. Sure, MA faces the issue of being pitched to the middle. Setting runs the risk of capping aspiration and perpetuating disadvantage. In both cases you need to guard against the risks, unless you have the silver bullet and are keeping it secret?

@OliHaley Well don’t feel like that, you certainly aren’t “only” an ECT. 🙂We are all (or should be) humble enough for professional learning! Your recommendation is so valid 👍 (P.S as someone “more experienced” I hope that doesn’t sound patronising!)
