Moments like this especially during something like an Iran conflict become their opportunity to push back. The U.S. has historically had leverage not just because of power, but because we led, we gave more than we took, we built alliances, and people trusted the relationship. Keywords: Gave more than we took That’s why countries bent over backwards for us. If we shift to purely transactional or confrontational, then the relationship changes. And once it changes, everything becomes fair game.
