the Japanese dub might be more accurate because localizers often alter anime Eng Dub to fit their narrative,
like in Dragon Maid.
For that reason,
I believe the Japanese dub is more truthful.

But in Japanese Bridget is still a he and referred to as otokonoko (feminine boy or crossdressing boy) in the anime after the statement
