The Monetization system on here has a major flaw Th Internet Hall of Fame account posts the screenshot of my old tweet about once a month Each time, they get ~20 million impressions and probably a couple hundred bucks in X creator payouts They do this dozens of times per day with posts created by other accounts The original creator gets nothing out of this Now let me preface with this: Aggregator accounts like Internet Hall of Fame definitely have their place. Most casual users would prefer to have a couple of these meme aggregators accounts to follow so they can see a roundup of all the funniest/best posts. Also, I don't consider this "stealing" my meme. They posted a screenshot with my account name and handle visible, which I think is totally fair game. And to be totally fair, my original post isn't completely original. I used the work of a Forbes journalist as the basis for my joke (they certainly don't get any ad revenue from my original post) My issue is more with the payout system and the incentives it creates The payout system does not incentivize original content. I can come up with one original, viral post every month or so. If I get 20 million impressions on it, I make like $200 from it. So why go to the effort of doing that when I could make 100x more by simply copy/pasting 100 other posts that already went viral? Originality is not rewarded when the payout rate is so low. You can't make decent money with 10 million impressions. You need hundreds of million impressions - And that just isn't possible if you're coming up with original content (unless you are a celebrity with a massive following) I believe the payout system was created to empower creators, which is a noble goal. But the real spoils of this system go not to the creators, but to the people who aggregate creative work made by others.

Politicians Broke the Housing Market ... Again Great article. fxhedgers.com/p/elites-used-… (subscribe, it's free) It’s no secret that the American dream of homeownership is dead, and lots of people say Biden killed it. While he put the last nail in the coffin, there’s plenty of blame to go around both sides of the political aisle going back decades.
