Just landed back in Nashville TN after being in Oklahoma and College Station for the first round of the playoffs.
In less than 24 hours Kalen DeBoer beat Oklahoma and Kenny Dillingham signed an extension with ASU.
If you are Michigan and it was those two guys then everyone else, let’s not just hire someone to hire someone. The next coach needs to be our coach for the next Decade.
We’re gonna lose players regardless of who we hire even if it was our first two choices. 2026 coaching cycle we can be at the front of it, make the right choice for long term success.
Maybe it’s time we consider Biff Poggi for next year.
For the record, whoever we hire I’m going to give them as much support as I possibly can, the timing of everything is worst case.

He probably just forfeited 5M+ a year and a much better job to stay. Can’t say it’s not obvious this will eventually blow up in his face

Sources: Kenny Dillingham has signed a new contract at Arizona State, which will average $7.5 million over the course of the deal. The staff salary pool is up to $11 million, which puts it near the top of the Big 12.

If Michigan’s top two targets are DeBoer and Dillingham, this should wrap up quickly after tonight.
Personally, I have a hard time seeing DeBoer making that move (regardless of what happens against Oklahoma). Even if it’s a lateral move on paper, he’d be leaving a somewhat uncertain future at Bama for an even more uncertain one at Michigan (internal investigation, AD, regents, etc).
Dillingham is a different story. If you’re a young, rising P4 head coach and a blue blood program like Michigan comes calling, you take it. ASU may be a great situation given his history with the area and school, but it’s not Michigan. There’s a short list of jobs you can’t say no to...Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Notre Dame, Ohio State, etc. Michigan is certainly one of those jobs.

@swankywolverine Except he isn’t 😂 No one wants to coach there…surprise 🤣 Maybe a wild card “Michigan Man” will emerge 🤡

@DailyUofM98 @Castellani2014 He (and others) have been really good at covering stuff up, that’s the only plausible reason he hasn’t been fired, and he probably has way too much dirt on the university, he’d sue, and it would all come out…

@Castellani2014 Warde should have been fired after mishandling harbaugh if we are being honest
