@malone_j71 Thats a mistaken history of the sash though. It was first finger-woven by french-canadians (assomption model was popular). Then the brits started making them on mechanical looms. Those became popular with Métis (Riel had one). Then people started making them on small looms.

@CorpusMagus @AodhanMykola10 Ontario Métis sticking with the MMF narrative on Québec is insane. There's no magic border where Métis suddenly cease to exist. Neither Riel, Dumont or Harry Daniels believed in any of that. That whole Red River supremacy ideology only started in the 80s.

@AodhanMykola10 Because we succeeded so rapidly, it put a bad taste on the mouths of Ontario FNs and the MMF, so they're both trying to Wipe us out. And theres no Quebec Metis bcuz they became Quebecois, so the QC Border Metis nations are slightly aligned with QC Nationalism as a result.

I know a few "Canadian Indigenous Activists". But those particular individuals dont actually do much other than Fly around the world and talk. In my opinion, the best way for All Canadian Indigenous people to succeed is to Get Educated & Build Corporations based on our Values.

@CorpusMagus @AodhanMykola10 There are Métis in Québec. Its true that we are more integrated into french-canadian culture, but so are many french-canadian Métis in Manitoba, i dont see anyone questioning their legitimacy, maybe except Chartrand, Goodon and Chartier when the UNMSJM do something they dont like

DAMASCUS, June 11 (Reuters) - Syria's Islamist-led government has decreed that women should wear burkinis or other swimwear that covers the body at public beaches and swimming pools, while permitting Western-style beachwear at private clubs and luxury hotels. The tourism ministry decision issued this week marks the first time the Damascus authorities have issued guidelines related to what women can wear since Bashar al-Assad was toppled in December. During the Assad family's iron-fisted rule of Syria, which was shaped by a secular Arab nationalist ideology, the state imposed no such restrictions, though people often dressed modestly at public beaches, reflecting conservative norms.

@timourazhari Asma al-Assad wasn’t wearing a hijab. Would you dare saying Syria was safer for women back then? I don’t like this decision re burkini on the beach. Not a good sign at all. But the way you worded your tweet gives a bad feeling about what you consider to be progressive.

@12sa34na90061 @azealiaslacewig Just read Robin Philpot's investigations on federal corruption in 95. Around 60% of FRENCH SPEAKING québécois, actual québécois (including haitian and African immigrants), not anglo-rhodesians from westmount, voted Yes. Get outta here with your colonialist BS.

@12sa34na90061 @azealiaslacewig When we talk about ethnic vote, its not a jab at immigrants, its a criticism of Canada and the way it intrumentalize immigrant communities against Québec self-determination. Luckily arabs, africans and haitians often support independence because they understand our struggle.

@12sa34na90061 @azealiaslacewig Ethnic vote just mean X community leaders would pressure their community into voting NO. The canadian government also had an "open border" policy where they would just give out citizenships under the promise to protect Canada against the evil racist separatist, and fear mongering

@la_pote1 @azealiaslacewig +Qc is more progressive than most canadian provinces. The PQ started out as center-left in the 70s and made tons of pro-labor and progressive legislation. Now its more centrist, but its certainly not a straight up right wing party. The CAQ are center-right federalists traitors

@la_pote1 @azealiaslacewig You live in a bubble. Canada is a colonial imperialist state that treated all its minorities (indigenous peoples, francophones and immigrants) as second class citizens for centuries, backed the US in almost all of its war, maintening WASP supremacy but somehow Qc is the problem!
