The electricity that Bitcoin miners consume to process transactions ultimately ends up as heat. So, to be as competitive as possible, the industry is shifting more and more toward finding ways to re-use that heat:

3/3 The Fantom ecosystem was wiped out during the bear market, and as a result of the Multichain fiasco. But like Solana ecosystem, new dApps will surface from the ashes. Rebuilding brings opportunities, as user attention and $$$ will be concentrated on a select few dApps.

@AndreCronjeTech Great work on the technical aspects. Users (early adopters) have been scammed by so many projects on FTM. The technology is essential, but is nothing without an healthy ecosystem and real use cases. I personally love FTM but lost so much on it. FTM foundation must address that.

a 4 post. This guy, first promises positive coverage, no FUD, etc. So I agreed to and spent 2 hours with him. He specifically asked to check out the van I use. So, we arrange to pick him up with it. We bought him drinks (orange juice and coffee) and chatted for 2 hours. Now out of all that, all he could do is talk negatively about my van. 😂 No, it's not like airplane seats (those suck anyway). It's a Toyota Granvia. It has reclining seat backs, good for my herniated-disc back. And no, I never hit anyone in the back with my seat back. I just never do that. And most importantly, everyone I know ❤️ Dubai! Normally I would not waste time on this. But once in a while, it's fun to illustrate how bad some FUD come about. Comical in a way. 4

Another illogical paper was recently published by the BIS. The entire piece lays out all of the perceived risks cryptoassets bring to the traditional financial system. The BIS is worried about how cryptoassets could cause more financial instability in the traditional financial system. The paper then turns its focus specifically to the risk cryptoassets pose to Emerging Market economies, where cryptoasset adoption is soaring. They list out all the possible factors for why there are so many cryptoasset users in these Emerging Markets: 1.) They "need to store value due to high inflation or high currency depreciation" 2.) They need to transfer money back to their countries more easily and cheaply 3.) Their country lacks a solid fiscal position. "The probability of a sudden sovereign default could undermine the value of an EME currency and push citizens to buy cryptoassets" 4.) Their country lacks credible central banks and solid financial or monetary institutions 5.) If capital controls restrict their access to dollars when the local currency is failing, cryptoassets can be more easily transferred across borders through global crypto exchanges, P2P transfers, and crypto wallets. So just to summarize...the BIS is concerned about the risks cryptoassets pose to Emerging Markets because people are using them to escape high inflation, currency devaluation, irresponsible fiscal policy, capital controls, and expensive traditional methods to transact globally. Instead of the BIS focusing on the risks cryptoassets pose to Emerging Markets, perhaps they should be writing on the risks that irresponsible central banks and governments pose to them, no? For if the citizens of these Emerging Markets weren't suffering at the hands of these institutions, then there would be no need, nor any demand, for alternative monetary solutions like #Bitcoin. There's a bridge refurbishment project near my house roughly this size, and the construction workers have been doing it for least 18 months now. Police are often called in to direct traffic one lane at a time under the bridge, even at this stage.
