The restoration of biodiversity is one of the key outcomes of the rehabilitation of Kigali’s wetlands. Even before the completion of works across the five wetlands, the return of various bird species is a clear sign that these ecosystems are recovering and thriving.

Today, Prime Minister Nsengiyumva visited the Muvumba Multipurpose Dam Project in Nyagatare, a key investment in Rwanda’s sustainable development. In @RwandaSouth, the Minister of @EnvironmentRw, @Dr_Arakwiye, alongside the Regional Police Commander for the Southern Province, ACP Désiré Twizere, and the officer in charge of Civil-Military Cooperation in @RwandaSouth, Lt Col Robert Murenzi, handed over 10 houses to vulnerable families in @GisagaraDistr, Muganza Sector. They also provided financial support to the Agents of Change cooperative to support their development initiatives.#DSCOP26

In November, Rwanda will host MOP38 - the 28th Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol, the global treaty protecting the ozone layer. The event also marks the 10th anniversary of the Kigali Amendment, which is phasing down HFCs (powerful warming gases) #GreenRwanda🇷🇼🌿

In London, @Dr_Arakwiye attended a Super Pollutant Reception hosted by His Majesty King Charles III. The Minister shared Rwanda's determination for a successful Montreal Protocol meeting in November & commitment to the Kigali Amendment as we mark ten years since its adoption.
