Refineries need to sell Gas Futures RIGHT NOW for enough money in order to purchase Crude Oil Futures. Oil providers sell to the highest bidder. That's how free markets work. If suddenly, oil traders in Asia are willing to pay significantly more, then the prices go up. No one has the right to say: "Hey, I was going to buy this nice house in North Carolina, but then someone from California came in & outbid me" That's life.
