AFP Chief Honors Troops for Successful Operations in Negros Occidental In recognition of operational excellence and decisive action in the fight against insurgency, General Romeo S Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), visited the Visayas Command (VISCOM) in Camp Lapu-Lapu, Lahug, Cebu City on April 24 to personally commend and award troops following the successful neutralization of armed insurgents in Negros Occidental. The recognition was given to personnel of the Visayas Command whose focused combat operations led to the neutralization of 19 members of the Communist NPA Terrorists (CNTs). The operation also resulted in the recovery of 24 assorted firearms, significantly degrading the operational capability of the CNTs in Northern Negros. During his visit, General Brawner lauded the troops for their professionalism, courage, and unwavering commitment to the mission. He emphasized that the success of the operation reflects the AFP’s sustained efforts to ensure peace and security while upholding the highest standards of discipline and respect for human rights. The AFP Chief was joined by Lieutenant General Fernando M Reyeg PA, Commander of VISCOM, who expressed his gratitude to the operating units for their dedication, coordination, and decisive actions in accomplishing the mission. The AFP remains steadfast in its mandate to protect the Filipino people, uphold national security, and support long-term peace and development across all regions.
