@jchensor @fgc_theone @KobeManX8 Exactly its pretty common for fairly non competitve games to have a competitve scene, speedrunning games is also really popular and (most) games are certainly not built with that as an intent but the natural nature if human competition has caused players to build those communitys

@EredosSSBU @fgc_theone @KobeManX8 Also, when you allow players to modify every rule in your game so specifically, you’re kind of asking for it. 😂.
So many games with competitive scenes like Catherine or NES Tetris were not made for hardcore competitive play. But that hasn’t stopped people from competing in it.

@TJandElover83 That’s fair I personally find that grenade in hand and grenade on the floor can be somewhat tough to deal with as reflecting with inhale isn’t an option in those cases but the range and edgeguarding certainly do help

@EredosSSBU Can't trade with him, gordo beats nade 90% of the time for some reason, dedede edgeguards him at 0 while nikita doesn't do shit and he can just float around kill moves well with little risk. It's mainly just the survivability diff

@fgc_theone @jchensor @KobeManX8 To what is considered fair for all players in competitive all of the smash games surely have some chinks in the armour when it comes to balance but the game is still intended to be playable for everyone on every character

@fgc_theone @jchensor @KobeManX8 He did say that smash was intended to be a party game and considering the way the game is played casually (4 players, all stages, hazards) that makes sense however that doesn’t mean it isn’t also a fighting game it took a lot of time to narrow the game down (cont)

@mandolixdot76m @HyPaladin @ghaaast Leo also used Solo Ike (and two game he lost on Richter I guess) to win Smash United Conference which while not considered a major at the time would be considered one now

@HyPaladin @ghaaast All good. Leo used Lucina in losers quarters vs Light and in both sets of grands vs VoiD. He did go mostly Ike but I wouldn't consider this Ike winning a major since a few key sets, including grand finals, were Lucina sets

Here’s a slightly better version. Green = has won a major solo, yellow = has won a major with partial usage, & red = has never won a major in any real capacity

@salmonbait04 @ghaaast The game is very balanced tbf but the lower you go on the list the more likely you are to lose hard to one or more common top tiers

@ghaaast Not knowledgeable about competitive fighting games tournaments or smash so idk if majors are like cream of the crop but a B tier being the lowest to win seems like a pretty steep cutoff, thought ultimate was a lil more balanced than that
