I actually get where you’re coming from. A year of service could give people structure, shared experience, and a sense of responsibility that a lot of us never really get anymore. It wouldn’t even have to be strictly military it could include community service, disaster response, infrastructure work, healthcare support, stuff that actually helps the country. That kind of shared obligation might do more for unity than any speech ever could. At the same time, I get why people would push back. Forcing service raises real questions about personal freedom, cost, and whether the government could even run something like that competently. Some would argue opportunity and discipline should be earned, not mandated. Still, it’s an interesting idea, and it says a lot that so many countries use it successfully. The real question is whether Americans would see it as investment in the country or just another burden.

Random. I honestly feel like the president should make one year of service mandatory for everyone born in America. A lot of other countries do it. And I think it would help with discipline and structure. I’m curious what yall think would this help America or nah.

The NFL is now asking injury-report compliance questions to the Atlanta Falcons about when they knew rookie running back Bijan Robinson wasn’t physically well and why it was not reported, as per league policy.   It is standard practice for the league to question teams about a player if he is not included on the weekly injury report and then is either unavailable for the game or plays far less than what typically occurs. Violations have been met with fines.
