An on-the-run criminal who used a false name to claim social protection payments here after fleeing the UK while on temporary release from prison has been jailed for two years.
Nasser Hussein (35) had residency in the UK and was on temporary release when he came to Dublin, having travelled to Ireland from Belfast.
Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard that he used a false name to secure a social protection card.

I have written to the Taoiseach calling for the immediate resignation of the Chairperson of Bord Bia, Larry Murrin.
He was appointed by the government and his position is utterly untenable after revelations that his company has been importing Brazilian beef into Ireland.
The job of the chair of Bord Bia is to promote Irish food around the world. His actions undermine that and damage Irish farming and the agri food sector.
