A huge problem with buying shares on secondary markets is everyone else (the seller, the broker) wants you to pay as high a price as possible and you are generally not entitled to any real disclosures. I strongly suggest anyone thinking of buying shares on secondary markets, at a minimum, have some source other than their chosen broker for information such as the number of shares outstanding and the price at which shares have recently been trading on secondary markets. Though I cannot specifically recommend any services, notice.co and hiive.com do provide data on secondary markets. They can only report on what they can see, but it is almost certainly better to have data than not have data. It also very much helps to compare quotes from multiple brokers.
