California is so innovative that we make drinking straws from grass and grass from plastic. My new startup is working on a self riding horse

@R0b0tSp1der @tszzl Hey I’m currently working full time on a RL project for a 4-player simultaneous move game. The design is based on AlphaZero. DM me if this sounds relevant - I would be happy to share my knowledge!

@jordanmmck How could you change the function selector logic without changing the byte code of the function selectors?

@EricShowers * compile my contract, give you the ABI, change the bytecode, then deploy it

It's interesting how the EVM really just does whatever the bytecode tells it, and doesn't "know" how to do basic things. For example, when you deploy a new contract you have to include a bunch of instructions on how to do a lot of that. Every single time.

@jordanmmck You can verify a contract's ABI by checking the bytecode for matching function selectors. As I recall there are even standards for doing it on chain (this might be obsolete idk): eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-165

I still wonder if there's some way to verify an ABI against some bytecode. ie. if I *don't* have the source code, only ABI, can I verify the ABI is correct? Maybe there's situations where we want obfuscated code, but still want verified ABI?

@Mario_Gibney @idavidrein Matryoshka corrigibility. You put the AI in a box. Then you give the AI a box containing an AI and convince it that if the lower AI escapes it’s box it will destroy it. The greater AI will be too preoccupied with containing the lower to attempt it’s own escape 🫢

@Mario_Gibney I'm naming this the "Russian dolls" construct. It's just AI's in boxes all the way down.

it is strange how my attraction changes to someone if I think if them as a parent. Try it. Think of someone you like, now imagine they are having a baby. Does it change for you?

@Mario_Gibney Is there a possibility that protecting all 80+ yr olds is not the ultimate goal of the government. I understand the implications of that are insane 😕

@lumpthought working memory is how many things you can think about at once. If you have 4 spare working memory slots 9some are almost always taken up) and the thing you are thinking about needs 5, it will loop instead to try to get processed.

PSA: If you keep thinking about it, write it down, set an alarm, emotionally process it (somatically, not narratively), make a decision. Looping is a sign of something that doesn't fit in working memory. Ignore your own assumption that it is trivial.
