@TealCoug Although the premise of your post is completely disingenuous anyone who has followed the Utah fanbase knows Utah fans have been critical of Whitt for years. Now, BYU fans have been critical of ARod but it’s almost been crickets on Sitake. So, perhaps some self reflection is due?

Here’s what I’m hearing on a couple @UtahMBB players:
Terrence Brown’s odds of leaving have increased. Nothing set in stone, but signs are pointing that way.
Jacob Patrick played in less than a third of Utah’s games, likely maintaining eligibility for a medical redshirt. I wouldn’t be shocked if he is on the team again next year.

@UteFanIvan Whitt is an excellent coach at Xs and Os and strategy on the field and that was his main focus. It’s well known he didn’t have very good relationships with the UofU admin and boosters and didn’t really try. Scalley was the future and Whitt was the past. Utah wanted the future.

Because the narrative has just been “you pushed out the winningest coach in your programs history”
Nobodies asking “Why didn’t the university want Coach Whittingham to stay?”
An important question if you ask me. Why the pushback? Just because of commitments to Scalley? I doubt it tbh.

@JacobCHatch Agree with your points. I’d add that BYU could better spend that NIL across its roster or on another 5 star player. And, the Jazz aren’t getting him at the number five spot. Silver will never, ever allow the Jazz to move up in the draft and will probably move the Jazz back.

The notion of AJ Dybantsa staying at BYU is fun & all, but it’s not happening. It’s not for the reason(s) you think as it’s an 8-to-9 figure issue.
BYU could easily set him up NIL-wise for another year to equal an NBA rookie-level salary ($10-15 million) imo, but you have to realize he’s taking a year off the back end of his NBA career that likely will be worth $90-100+ million based on the projections of the growth of NBA super max salaries over the next decade or so.
Does BYU’s booster base want to pay him $100 million? He’s likely to stick around in that case. Otherwise, get ready to root for him playing for the Utah Jazz (here’s me manifesting something I want)

Bold Prediction: AJ Dybansta isn't messing around. He really is considering staying for another season at BYU. The kind of competitor that he is, it's bothering him that he got bounced in the first round. I predict he'll stay another season for his legacy.

So. After an 11-2 season and years of success legendary Utah coach Kyle Whittingham decides he wants to keep coaching. Asks for more money/resources. Utes AD Mark Harlan offers a small raise, says he's done after one year and gives all power to Morgan Scalley on recruiting AND wants him to cede power to him as well. Basically--completely undercutting him. Whitt says no, works out a $13.5 mil buyout plus other incentives that Harlan agrees to. And then Harlan is surprised and butthurt when Whitt raids coaches/players of the program?! Did I summarize this right?!

@vegasc82 @KGrahamContent Walk me through the metrics of success. After 2 PAC-12 titles he averaged 2 4 stars a year. AZ, ASU, and UCLA were averaging 4 per year and no PAC-12 championships. BYU is now surpassing Utah at averaging 3 per year. And Texas Tech🤦♂️ You call that success?!? Really?!?

@EricTLund @KGrahamContent Don’t you have a 5 star freshman OL as well ? Oh well , whit won’t have any problem getting recruits at UM. In fact , UM has 3-4 five stars on the roster currently , that may be tied with the most at UM. Underwood , Hiter , Moa, Meadows . 3 /4 are freshman .

@vegasc82 @KGrahamContent The two OLs were 4 stars stacked over different signing classes. The DE was a 3 star that was developed. Yes Moa was signed, but once again in a different signing class. Whitt would get on average 2 4 stars a cycle. Thats not great. But listen to Whitt himself. He whines about it
