After 8 long years of pain, darkness, danger, and neglect, the traffic lights at Awoshie-Mangoase Baah Yard are finally working again.
For years, residents, motorists, traders, schoolchildren, and commuters were forced to navigate this busy intersection at great risk. Countless complaints were made, promises came and went, yet the situation remained unchanged. Many had simply lost hope that anything would be done.
Today, that story has changed.
This may seem like a simple traffic light to some, but to the people of Awoshie-Mangoase Baah Yard, it represents something much bigger: safety, dignity, and the belief that their concerns matter.
I would like to acknowledge the support of the Municipal Chief Executive, the Chiefs of Awoshie, and other stakeholders whose cooperation has been instrumental in helping us move this matter forward. I am also deeply grateful to the Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Governs Kwame Agbodza, for facilitating and expediting the process to ensure that this long-standing challenge received the urgent attention it deserved.
My appreciation also goes to the engineers and technical teams who worked tirelessly, including through the night, to diagnose the faults, restore the system, and ensure that the traffic lights are fully operational once again.
As your Member of Parliament, I remain committed to ensuring that basic public services are not treated as privileges but as necessities. Our municipality deserves functioning infrastructure, safer roads, and a government that responds to the everyday challenges of ordinary people.
This is not the end of our work but a stark reminder that when we listen to the needs of our people and act with urgency, progress is possible.
I also wish to appeal to all residents, drivers, traders, and community members to take collective ownership of this restoration. Let us remain vigilant and help protect the equipment from theft, vandalism, and damage. Public infrastructure belongs to all of us, and safeguarding it is a shared responsibility.
To everyone who kept raising their voices and refusing to accept neglect as normal, thank you. To the media houses and journalists who consistently highlighted the dangers posed by this situation, I acknowledge and appreciate your role.
Together, we will continue to push for the development, safety, and transformation that Ablekuma North deserves.

It is quite ironic that the same merchants of probity and accountability now suggest a Ghanaian needs an audit license to decipher the truth of our national accounts.
The BoG recorded a total loss of GH¢34.9bn. Focusing only on the 'operating' portion is a pretense that undermines transparency. Having the humility to admit the full scale of our challenges is the first step to recapitalizing the Central Bank a necessity their own financials make clear.
Ghanaians don’t need 'voodoo' mathematics; we just need the truth, in full, for every citizen to see.

Following the discovery of fresh evidence, we have, a while ago, withdrawn from the prosecution of all the Accused Persons in the case of THE REPUBLIC v HANAN ABDUL-WAHAB ALUDIBA and 4 OTHERS. This is to afford each of the Accused Persons a fair and a more speedy trial in accordance with the Constitution.
Later this afternoon, the last-but-one prosecution witness in the case of THE REPUBLIC v KWABENA ADU-BOAHENE & OTHERS will continue her testimony. A former bank relationship manager and, later, employee of the Accused Persons, this prosecution witness testifies to how the Accused Persons got and spent the monies which we believe they stole from the State.

Full time review
- Kobbie Mainoo incredible. Three 9/10 performances in a row!
- Cunha quality again, big game player with the right personality.
- We gifted them all their goals, need to make less individual errors.
- Ayden Heaven played well.
- Unreal start, poor second half.
- Bruno fantastic, created so much. He should have got an assist today.
- Love Casemiro but he gets way too far forward sometimes and leaves the midfield open.
- The ref was awful, was helping Liverpool as much as he could.
United were the better team and deserved the win today!
