YOU: why is the printer not working again ME: (with a rudimentary understanding of windows 11) the machine spirit is unresponsive, tray 2 is engaged in heretical spooling, join me in chanting the canticle of troubleshooting

Illustrated the poem “curiosity”; may have used my cat throughout; might have thrown some Easter eggs in, too— #poetry

@jreimr That checks out. One of the few posts on my website that still gets regular comments has to do with "couple," "few," and "several."

Words like "couple," "few," and "several" are supposed to be rough, generalized stand-ins for exact numbers, but people will come to blows over the exact range of "a few" or whether "a couple" includes three.

@suzania Weirdly, I was thinking this morning about the role/presence of rivers in Greek myths relative to rivers in the Bible...

Absolutely losing my mind at the fact that Eurydice is killed when she is bitten on the heel by a snake as she dances on the day of her wedding bitten on the heel by a snake
Susannah Black Roberts@suzania

Jesus did what Orpheus did not. It's chock full of brides and mothers, that cycle: Eurydice, Persephone, Demeter. There are other brides, other mothers, in other stories, in the myths of the Greeks, in the myths of every Bronze Age culture that we know. It's funny.

The ranch that I shot my ranch water spot on is currently for sale for $11M. I had a dream that I started a Sundance like institute for filmmakers in West Texas. Support for projects, locations, land, crew, education, workshops, edit suites, writing retreats, etc. Anyone??

Time for my first ever rage thread. My two favorite newsletters featured this essay, and I cannot let it go on. This aggression will not stand, man. lithub.com/baroque-purple…

@katybowser Holly Ordway's Tolkien's Modern Reading doesn't exactly touch on your topic, but it's definitely adjacent. It's also a fun read, so.

Has anyone created a timeline comparing works/ideas by Tolkien & Lewis? Surely their writings on trees, or language sprang from/was cross pollinated by their pints & talks.

Just got my copy of Brian Dillon's latest in the mail. I love this approach, looking at art and looking at yourself looking at art in order to see the art and yourself better.
