Why are they always saying “say it louder for the people in the back.” As someone usually in the back, I take offense to that. Y’all privileged people up front just assuming that the people in the back aren’t listening? To just assume we are somehow at fault for being in the back is unfair.
Additionally, the statement is presumptuous to people who are sitting up front. You assume they are paying attention cause they’re up front? Is it general admission or does everyone have a reserved seat? There are several socioeconomic factors to consider as well.
Plus, why didn’t the place where the things are being said have adequate sound accommodations? Why is it “say it louder for the people in the back” and not “maybe the person saying the things should reconsider the environment in which he is saying said things so next time the people in the back will have equal opportunity to hear.”
The statement also assumes the thing said was so important that the people in the back need to hear it, in comparison to other things said. So the privilege of the people up front get to decide which parts are said louder, based on what THEY THINK the people in the back need to hear? Presumptuous and elitist.
As someone in the back, let me just say that we do not need it to be said louder. Have you ever considered we sat in the back NOT to avoid hearing, but to avoid sitting next to the type of people up front who say things like “say it louder for the people in the back”
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
