@JoeCurley92 This wasn’t even the low point of that season. I went to watch us lose 4-0 at Orient, although Harry Kane did score one of those.

@Prophesy_Scout They have a game on Weds which looks pretty make or break in the EuroCup, win that & I’d be looking for a 4 who can give them another big body on D & some scoring punch/floor stretch ability. Lose, I’d probably just wait for McGusty & Scott to return.

Mikesell OUT from the Lions. With the added Lukosiunias news, it'll be interesting to see the route they take on potentially getting a new import. Always seemed like Lukosiunias' spacing ability and shotmaking on the move fit the Lions better.

London Lions can confirm that the club and Ryan Mikesell have parted ways by mutual consent. Everyone at London Lions would like to thank Ryan for his professionalism during his time with the club and wish him every success with the next step in his career. #WeAreLondon

@Prophesy_Scout Do you know whether Abercrombie would be eligible to be selected for GB? Does it just depend whether he had his passport prior to turning 16?

With the recent performances of players like Rickey McGill in the BCL (where he's been the primary handler/scorer of the team), Riley Abercrombie in the Greek top tier (currently shooting 47% from three, crazy high 68TS% on 19% usage) and Charles Thompson

Sitting with a beer in the @HorseshoeTavern here in Toronto and saw this framed clipping of @billybragg playing here when William Bloke had just come out. I saw Bill at the Roundhouse on that tour - after the 5 year break - I remember it like only yesterday.

@Prophesy_Scout Sorry - I know you have! Was more a general comment on the 10 imports narrative. It’s also not like the top Euro Cup teams are built around local talent, I’d watched very little prior to getting a season ticket at this year, but it’s the same import level/reliance on US talent..

@Erkboy Well - of course I have! And it's a very good example of an overarching rule working to enact positive behavioural change (forcing Lions/higher budget teams to spend on higher end Brits vs. imports was a very smart move and ensures we get more of them on our shores).

My thoughts on the import-limit debate that crops up from time to time.
Prophe(s)y. |@Prophesy_Scout

My argument is that it's the top level league, which requires a certain level of import talent, which also, in terms of the pyramid and British talent development, also serves a purpose in acclimatising British talent to higher levels to those who play here (see - the development of Pat Whelan, Josh Ward Hibbert etc.). Low import top leagues typically doesn't equate to good NTs because playing level is paramount - all top European nations (France, Germany, Turkey, Greece, Lithuania, Poland etc.) have 5-6 import limits or high EU foreigner count (like Spain) etc. The onus on talent development has to be with the 2nd division league, where it is in most nations (exceptions like Slovenia have EuroCup and ABA outlets where their main talent output is) - where the BCB recently increased to 3 and hasn't got any EABL links anymore where there was with Barking often being in the old NBL D1. I mean absolutely no disrespect, but there's also the argument about the viable level of talent (as shown by various BCB statlines transitioning between the two) to play in a league that's attracting a higher and higher level of high D1 import talent. It's also a professional business that needs, for its own ticket sales, to put on an attractive on-court product. That all being said, the use of dual passports and complete disregard of British youth beside Surrey isn't good enough and actively detrimental to getting more spots to actually benefit from the improved playing level - if there was a homegrown rule like Manchester had to abide to for their BCL entry (which resulted in Kaiyem/Kayne etc. playing here) that'd be very beneficial (and I feel very necessary). I also really want some sort of U23 rule.

@saintpat1962 Mo had a strapping on his thigh. He spent some of the 2nd half on the warm-up bike, but looked dressed to play, so not sure whether he tweaked something in warm-up.

Mo didn't see any minutes, I don't know if he was injured or the coach was still sulking with him, I guess we'll find out in the next game! I'm not convinced that the coach shouting in players faces is the right way forward, but he's not lost an SLB game yet, so what do I know!

A few thoughts about @LondonLions game yesterday. 1st game at NCC, it's not a venue the premier club in London/GB should be playing their games in but if we have to, then you need the bleachers fixed and pulled out, Three rows of collapsible chairs isn't acceptable, however..

@JoeCurley92 That’s not even a joke, have been icing knees and ankle since the latter stages of my basketball career & esp on a Sat night after cricket. Except I repurpose these wine bottle gel coolers because I’m from Yorkshire and don’t like to waste ice.

@NWestbyYPSport @SprLeagueBballM Do you think it’s a safe bet that London are spending >£800k (noting that it’s a net rather than gross salary figure)? They’ve only played 4 imports to date this season but Ryan Mikesell is currently injured & the Lithuanian Lukosiunas signed as cover isn’t playing in the SLB
