11. Scarlet Nexus good game. Very anime in a very good way. Pretty good gameplay depth with different ways of playing. Basically(?) completely voiced, which is ultra-rare, across lots of characters. I wonder what the people who worked on this are doing now.

@pan_tea_of_love Korean? Seems like it is mostly(?) chinese or korean making games for gentlemen these days.

@uncle_deluge had the exact same reaction a month or so ago when someone not alive when FF7 released was talking about why the game was loved (hint: none of the reasons we loved it at the time)

I shouldn't have to put up with someone who wasn't even alive when Ocarina of Time came out talking about "orientalism tropes"

@jukeboxharu Yeah, was basically wondering if that had ended up paying off for you. Or if she had already been power crept, etc. So, at least you have that going for you

@Errol1001 Yeah, I've got her where she needs to be now. She's such a powerhouse card that she's kinda step 1 in having a strong foundation for anyone, no matter how much money you do or don't spend on the game. She'll be powercrept out eventually, but her staying power is significant

alright I know I was crying yesterday about only outputting mid racers but my girls gave them a shellacking today, these matches were so lopsided lol

@jukeboxharu What ever happened with your kitasan black? Iirc you needed to collect a freebie now and then until eventually you got to max upgrade for it to pay off

@Errol1001 I do still think my ROI in this game is tragic though, even if you whale you still have to roll the dice...

@YOGAMEWIZARD I hate the way long sounds turn into Rs too. Like hamburger. which is fine, but when you go the reverse direction with some made up word or name, the localization always ends up with R's stuck in,.

@YOGAMEWIZARD the actual reason doesn't really matter though and it's some nonsense regardless.

@YOGAMEWIZARD well, whatever works. the real final boss is that whatever random katakana word could be 5 different words in the original english, and any given english word might be put into katakana 5 different ways lol

@Errol1001 i think the easy way for me is the dakuon version of shi is "ji" so its already how I spell my name in katakana lol

@YOGAMEWIZARD you just need something to remember it by. for example, tsundere is very easy to remember. the tsu is smirking at you like a tsundere. シンデレ

10. Star Ocean 2 Remake Pretty good. Good VA, and lots of it. Good characters. Some very good points in the story which I liked a lot. I don't like the combat / gameplay really at all, although it's really promising... I wonder if the original is better (or worse) combat.

Games completed in 2023 #1. Fire Emblem Engage

finished scarlet nexus... well, I don't think I want to do a second run with the other protag. But, big fan of this game. Really does so much right.

@JustinianGA engage really wasn't far from it, with the maps being explorable after each battle. If they just moved the npcs into those maps and you purchased from them there, it would basically be that.

Fire Emblem will never be peak again until the concept of the hub world is eradicated.
