When Netanyahu threatens to crush Hezbollah or "hit hard" on Lebanon, he usually just means he's ready to commit another massacre against children, health workers, civilians, etc.

🇮🇱🇵🇸⚡️– Palestinian detainees, including men, women, and children, have described systematic sexual abuse by Israeli prison guards, settlers, soldiers, and interrogators from Shin Bet, NYT's Nicholas Kristof writes. Former prisoners reported being assaulted with batons and metal objects, while female detainees described being stripped, beaten, and filmed. Child detainees also recounted abuse and threats of rape, with one 15-year-old boy saying guards threatened to assault him with a stick if he did not comply. The 15-year-old boy added that threats were routine, adding, "They’d say, ‘Do this or we’ll put this stick up your butt.’" Human rights monitors and former prisoners also cited reports that police dogs were being coached to rape prisoners. One former detainee said Israeli officials warned him not to speak publicly after his release "if he wants to stay alive." The trend continues when you look at the infamous Sde Teiman abuse case, where charges against Israeli soldiers, who gang-raped a Palestinian detainee, were dropped. Benjamin Netanyahu described the outcome as a victory over “blood libel.” Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said he believed abuses of this caliber are occurring, stating: “There are war crimes committed every day in the territories.”

This has been going on for 80 years, and heavily documented. The NYTimes finally scraped together enough integrity to publish something.

This is a hard article to read, but I hope you'll do so. I've spent some time reporting on widespread rape and other sexual violence of Palestinian male and female prisoners by Israeli authorities, and the article is now published. The assault victims were warned not to give speak of what they endured -- they were sometimes told they would be killed or raped if they gave interviews -- but they found the courage to do so. One man described being raped three times in a single day in Israeli prison, the third time after he tried to protest. A young woman said the guards would come in at the beginning of each shift and strip her naked and abuse her. Another reported that she was shown photos of herself being raped and warned they would be released unless she cooperated with Israeli intelligence. Even three children who had been detained told me they had been sexually abused. Look, whatever our position on the Middle East, we should be able to agree on being anti-rape. Sexual assaults were horrific when Israeli women were targeted on Oct. 7, and they're equally horrific when Israeli authorities use them against Palestinians day after day after day. We should be able to find common ground in opposing rape. Here's a gift link to the article: nytimes.com/2026/05/11/opi…
