🧵 I also remember watching the end of this dystopian movie. Everything was shot in first person or with security cameras. It felt bleak and hopeless. I had a few nightmares because of it. youtu.be/k2-L7hBQhcE?si…

🧵I remember watching this when I sneaked out at night to turn on the TV because I couldn't sleep. It scared me a lot, but if I raised the volume, it mesmerized me. It left a deep mark. youtu.be/ufnPNTalw5Q?si…

@GeorgeCrudo What if I craft it specifically how I wanted? Voice that I wanted, locations, lens, lights, framing, script, etc. but I just do it with AI?

Many 3D artists are brainwashed into believing that working at a big studio like Disney or Pixar is the ultimate dream, even if they are overworked, underpaid, and responsible for the least significant detail of the film. An asset that is not even in focus. They are just there to appear in the credits, which no one will remember.

@Paultalk44 What about something personal? A personal story you wrote as a short film
English

@EthanAvila I was even paid in Hollywood to write scrips!
Cinema is an art like any other art, expressive to the extent and in the way it can be expressive, and limited by its financial and industrial requirements as they channel it.
English

@Paultalk44 Film. Is it art? because of its process or because of the storytelling? do you like it? have you ever written a script?

@Skwerl_Art Totally agree, I would never grind my work, health and life for big studios. Just to end up being a clog in a machine. Doing uncreative work for an "creative" industry
English

There gotta be a middle ground somewhere, I personally do not believe in grinding this hard just to be toyed around by big studios or publisher to make the next MCU or other AAA projects. Not especially in this kind of messed up job market. If I were to grind like that it'd be for my own project and fun. These days I'd rather bet on funmaxxing as far as learning and training goes.

For 3D students: Most I’ve met simply aren’t doing the hours needed to get into the industry. Studying only 10:00-16:00 every day won’t cut it - particularly since only a portion of the day is spent on actual work.

@rinboz Just for them to be a clog in the machine doing uncreative work in a creative industry.
English

And this is mostly to only be a clog in the machine.

Everyone can learn to be technically good at art, but it's rare to find someone who lives their life as an artist, constantly experimenting, learning, and always having something to express in the right direction.
